World Cup is NHL refs. It's not an IIHF event same as 4 nations.

I think if done again, and likely should be done again, like you said why not just give us a best of 5 series US vs Canada and Sweden vs Finland?? I would imagine Russia being involved after this year as well somehow or just wait until World Cup to add them back

I don't know when we see the 4 nations again honestly. Next year is Olympics. 2028 is World Cup. Do they squeeze one in 2027 or worry about fatigue with so much in a row now?

It definitely loses its drama if it’s too frequent. One of the reasons this has been so good is the players haven’t experienced it for so long so they’re all in. Once every 4 years seems like it might be a sweet spot.

Like I said you're being overly sensitive if you think that's flaming. I like Hughes, as I stated I have his jersey. But this is a thread to discuss the USA roster isn't it? There's no GDT. I just think it's suspect to bring on a player who was already ruled out of the tournament due to injury for the last game with all the current injuries. Of course they will be targets and a little more incentive to finish their checks.

Canada got to add a player because they had to play 1 game while shorthanded in a position group even though the injured player wasn't out of the tournament.

US had to play a game while down multiple forwards and didn't get to add a player to their roster.

I am a Bruins fan and read the NYR board and it seems Fox has been dealing with knee issues and I believe it.

Then he shouldn’t be playing. Ranger fans calling out other players, but when it comes to one of their own they bring up the injury excuse. How convenient.

Agreed. This should have been a 25 man roster min. But the other fact that they are dictating how your roster has to be is the biggest joke. You can't scratch your extra forward to get another dman...seriously, this is a mess and needs fixing for the next World Cup.

This tournament in general has been a smashing success but the details didn’t seem completely thought out or maybe the league didn’t even realize how seriously the players were going to take this? Hopefully they just stick with Olympic roster rules going forward. No need to rewrite the playbook.

Probably had more to do with Matthews being a last minute scratch and no time to bring someone in.
