US had to play a game while down multiple forwards and didn't get to add a player to their roster.

To be honest, I didn't see anything in the media about the US team requesting an additional forward and being denied by the NHL.

Canada got to add a player because they had to play 1 game while shorthanded in a position group even though the injured player wasn't out of the tournament.

Canada lost 1 D, then they added Harley who could not practice/play while the extra D Sanheim could. Then Canada lost another D, meaning Harley could play.

US didn't get to add because they didn't fly anyone in to replace the injured players. Did you expect players to teleport in? They could fly some guys in right now if Matthews/Tkachuk get ruled out for the championship game.

I don’t think Matthews was declared out until the afternoon. Really no time to do anything about it since Kreider was already in for Tkachuk.

It's an inaugural edition of the tournament, so there's some ironing out of the kinks to do. I'm not really going to read much into it. A lesson learned for the NHL. We could argue that they should have been better prepared for the scenarios that happened, and I think we'd be right to, however.

Shifting gears from Sanderson's eventual doom for a second. Does anyone think Kreider earned a spot for Thursday? I thought he played well overall. His type of frame is perfect vs Canada. I haven't been impressed with Trocheck and would be open to Larkin as 4C and Kreider in for Trocheck....thoughts??

...Trocheck, imo, is a far more reliable two-way player and can play C...
