World Cup: 4 Nations Tournament- Team USA (2025)

They were saying follow the rules/stupid rule being allowed to bring in another guy in a few days ago. You are just making up scenarios to be a victim
 
Also want to point out how mad as hell I am that we didn't get this for a decade. The level of stupidity the NHL has is staggering. They took this away from us for a damn decade & now think they are geniuses who finally caved to put something together.

All the talent we and other countries have had.
We missed out on so much. Prime Crosby. Prime Kane. Prime Ovi. Prime Ryan Lasch

...this should have been our norm not our exception.

It is absolutely dumb. But if you’re going to enforce a dumb rule for one team you have to enforce it for everyone lol they should have just let teams pick a bigger roster honestly.

This could have been a PA thing as well, as much as they want the tournament you'd probably rather have the 2 week vacation than be sitting in the press box and not playing.

It's not even a true world event so the fact it's so strict just feels off. I can't imagine NHL teams would be too upset if they let guys join late or make roster changes. Puts some guys in awkward spots and maybe a team like Vancouver sending their most important player while probably not 100% is worrisome but overall if the NHL wants best on best they'll need to plan this out a bit better next time.

Agreed. This should have been a 25 man roster min. But the other fact that they are dictating how your roster has to be is the biggest joke. You can't scratch your extra forward to get another dman...seriously, this is a mess and needs fixing for the next World Cup.
 
Insurance

Dont need insurance for NHL contract players to play in an NHL event like Four Nations (I think ..)

Do need insurance for players to play in non NHL events like the Olympics (I know ..)

Glad the NHL found a solution

Four Nations should be every other year imo

NHL really hit a grand slam with this tournament. It’s got so much buzz, especially USA vs Canada. So many news outlets and people that don’t generally comment on hockey have all chimed in. Pretty awesome for the game.

The most important( and coolest) part is how serious the players are taking it. It’s why Hockey is by far the greatest sport in the world.

Obviously we love the Olympics but this tournament has had a different feel. Maybe because it’s the only event?

I’m hooked. I saw someone suggest maybe do it before the NHL season? Idk what the answer is but this Tournament is amazing. Would love to see it become a rivalry series. Maybe 5 game series. USA vs Canada Finland vs Sweden. Winner of each series plays a 1 game championship?

I think if done again, and likely should be done again, like you said why not just give us a best of 5 series US vs Canada and Sweden vs Finland?? I would imagine Russia being involved after this year as well somehow or just wait until World Cup to add them back
