I’ve seen enough through 1 period to say that Matthews and Hughes need to be attached at the hip for every best on best tournament until one retires. They’ve been unreal

Carried much more of the play. Like their physicality. Unlucky to not be up after one. Finland is really comfortable with this type of game, so hopefully we can open things up a bit in the 2nd.

-In pretty unsurprising news, the Matthews/Hughes line looks consistently the most dangerous
-Not a great performance against Finland's forecheck. Some unlucky bounces, but this is a fast and physical team. Losing too many puck battles.
-4th line has looked pretty damn good.

Sloppy period for both teams but we are deservingly in the lead thankfully.

Need to start the 3rd with a strong PP and a goal. Put Werenski on the top unit.

Healthy Boldy will not only make the team, but be a major difference maker in a tournament like this. Full package player that can play anywhere in the lineup and dominate possession against even the best defenders with his reach and control skills. Looks to have taken even more steps forward in the off-season from his already stellar end to last year.
