It was very awkward to watch the speach Hallam held to players before game against Canada. It was so obviously his star struck nerve hit 120% and all he could do was babbling swenglish hockey terms in a tempo nobody ever could understand. Hallam is a pretender.

Its just these same Buffalo fans hyping up Dahlin in every thread no matter what happens lol. EK was elite last game but these guys are trashing him because Dahlin cant do the same hahah
The pendulum swings both ways. There are biased Sabres fans and then fans who are biased against Dahlin because of some heated arguments in past threads. Finnish posters are especially biased against him because they went to war for their guy Heiskanen. Fans of divisional teams probably are, too, because he can be a bit nasty on the ice (like what you saw with McDavid).

No biggie either way. Sports cause many petty arguments.

Players seem to really love each other.

I noticed this during the post-game in the US locker-room. It's really cool to see the pride these players have in their country. The US is especially heartwarming because they handed out a USA Gaudreau jersey to the player of the game. Tkachuk, who received the jersey, said they were playing for him and some other nice words.

These players care about this tourney, and us fans are benefitting by getting some great hockey.

Lines need a big shakeup imo, Pettersson’s line definitely needs a change, EP does better with cerebral east-west wingers than fast straight line north south wingers.

I dont think he is a pretender, he is just not on this level, not really his fault. Our coaches will never be able to measure up to North American coaches whos coached in the NHL for decades, only way is to get a previous player to coach like Forsberg, Lidström, Sundin, but sadly seems like no one is interested. Maybe Alfredsson.

I don't believe anyone of Forsberg, Lidström or Sundin, would be a good coach. Alfredsson on the other hand could be.

I think this tournament will be a good evaluation of Sam Hallam and his staff.

With several of Swedens Stars slumping/playing poorly (Zibanejad, Ep40, EK65 etc.) what will they do? Will they do what most Swedish National team coaches would do and just go with the names on the back of their jersey? And if so will they be able to make them perform? Or will they rely more on players who are currently playing well (Rakell and Raymond for example)?

Based on what has transpired so far, Hallam has definitely gone with the former option (rely on names instead of form).

It's quite funny (or sad, I guess) but if you sort the top 3 lines by position and age, you get almost exactly the same lineup that Hallam has been using.

I understand he has been put in a bad situation (goalies that was a strength went down with injuries, top centers being bad this season). But I think one should expect more than this.
I had hope that he was going to be different, than the other coaches Team Sweden has had recently. But it definitely seems not...

Makes you wonder if its something rotten in Team Sweden management (if all coaches are bad, maybe it's not the coaches fault).

They now have one game to redeem themselves, I doubt it would happen, but I would like to see them mix up the lines, based on performance instead of age, to see if they can get better chemistry.

I don't get it. Breaking up the only line that worked, but keeping together Zibanejad and Nylander, who both are bad defensivly and havent done anything good together with close to 21 minutes a game. Just throwing Bratt on that line lika a band-aid on a broken foot.

Finland game should have never have gone to OT, but missed call on Kempe leading to the goal was pretty blatant and game deciding.

The missed call on too many men vs Canada were also game deciding.

Shame... But it's a tournament where only Canada and USA viewship matters. So not suprising.

...Sweden got away with the exact same thing with 5 minutes left in the 3rd against Canada...Zebras put away the whistles all game for both sides...
