Doughty just looks so out of place on this squad. I get the ancient history thing, but it should be about fielding a team that can win, not just taking big name long timers. A guys who was injured all year... just why?!

Kevin Beiksa blathering on about how Charlie McAvoy is just playing physical and competing. I would agree if we were just taking about the original clean hit. However, I take issue with the follow up crosschecks and head shots when the hit receiving player is already down. He knocked Crosby down into the boards and then skated over to him to lay some more on. How is that not roughing when you take a extra shots like that?

That had to be one of the best starts to a hockey game we have seen in yrs, the Tkachuks are so damn entertaining. From the US perspective Canada has home ice, they had the crowd behind them everybody was amped up & they took some of the air out of their balloon. Canada also stood their ground which was good to see, got the first goal & now they are playing some great hockey. Great first period.

Crosby is 38 and showing it.

One of the big difference between these lineups is Canada has Crosby, Marchand, Doughty, and Parayko who are slow as f*** especially in the context of this game.

Who is USAs slowest player who well is past their prime? Nobody.
 
It's 1-1 after one they both have 8 shots on net & Canada is playing every bit as well as the US, it's a great game so far & very even, even in the fights.

How did Toews, sanheim and Harley get the call over Chabot? I know we've all been critical of him in recent years, but he's a better player than these guys. And he's had a great year. And he dominated on the WJC stage.. idk
