lol! I never understood why this guy was seen as a good GM.He's a reptilian like in V. He's much older than his disguise.
Bettman- '' Money, that's what I want ''I'm having trouble getting into this tournament. So gimmicky
I'm sure they figured all they needed was Gretzky. But, he was freaking old at the time. Canada was super arrogant at that time about our quality versus other countries other than the USA. Everyone was catching up quick in the 90s.
They figured they could leave whoever they wanted at home & still win.
At least that team lost to an absolutely epic performance by Hasek. It was a goaltending performance for the ages.
The 2006 team that went to Italy was just pathetic. The Todd Bertuzzi and Kris Draper picks. Ugh. They took no speed with them. Lost 2 games in preliminary round to finish 3rd in Division then lost to Russia in QF. They were awful all the way through.
The US took a terrible team too, finished 4th in their Division and lost in QF to Finland.
I did prefer the 2016 WC format too when it was played before the seasonI'm not really interested in this format, not during the season. Would be a good primer to start the season, I don't get the point of it during a regular season? Olympic hockey, ok.. this just seems odd. The Canada Cup used to be in the fall, do we even have a rivalry with other countries without Russia in the mix now?
Not surprised with Suzuki. I'd take him over Marner but he's borderline for that team.Suzuki not making it is a shame.
Caufield was expected. Too 1 dimensional and can be pre scouted. Although no Thompson is pretty crazy
Monty is surprising too
Without Russia, tournament is illegitimate.

Not a fan of that lineup. I’d definitely have Bedard there. I know he’s inexperienced but there’s so much talent and learning from the vets would be so great of for him. We’re going to need him in future tournaments.
I actually like the team. Lots of Cup winners (17x) and teammates. And that famous Marchand-Crosby duo, we all would expect MacKinnon to replace Bergeron well.
Right. NHL Russian players should have had their team. Awsome offence and great golatending for sure.Technically, they could have added Russia as this isn't an IIHF sanctioned tournament anyway, so the NHL doesn't have to comply with their sanctions.
A Russian team would have outstanding goaltending, but not sure if they could fill out the rest of the roster with quality NHL players.
Who’s making that line up. TB GM ? Cirelli ???? + Hagel and PointI'm pretty sure Slovakia can find 4 better LW than that.
Pathetic if true.
