At first I wasn't too thrilled about this tournament especially since Russia is not part of it but as we get closer to puck drop I'm starting to get excited.

We really didn't have any international tournament for the past decade. I'm looking forward to seeing some dream linemates and competitive hockey. I'm particularly interested to see how Laine performes with some decent teammates.

The current geopolitical affairs between Canada and USA makes this even more spicy.

It's a nice break from the regular NHL All-Star game. You got to appreciate it for what it is. A preview before the Olympics.

I wish more teams participated but it should be a fun even nevertheless.

I think since its replacing the All star game, they made all-star like choices to reward players doing well in the season. I think that's a union-deal that won't exist for the Olympics.

You are forgetting the Armstrong/Robert Thomas connection. The best thing that could possibly happen for the Olympics is that Team Canada gets embarrassed in the Four Nations Cup and a new selection process is put in place. Not making the final would be embarrassing as would getting blown out by the US.

I wouldn't say I'm excited more mildly interested.

Finland is going to have a rough time unless they get Hasek type goaltending from Saros. Practically their entire defense is injured.

Imo, USA has the best team at all positions.

I think Canada has a stronger forward group than Sweden, but Sweden has the better D group & goaltending. The winner of tonight's game will play USA in finals.

TVA and SN are the national broadcasters for the NHL so they get all the NHL properties. These include the draft plus the 4 Nations which is replacing the Allstar game which SN and TVA also broadcast.

I couldn't be less excited for this tournament. I didn't think I was gonna find it this unappealing.

On another note, I always get lunch at Souvlaki Bar at Complexe Desjardins because they give us plastic straws, like God intended.
