Our junior circuits are businesses. First and foremost. The leagues repeat as nauseam that the kids are already developed when they get to their teams. That pure dev is done at the minor levels. It’s been their excuse for making it a business. That is why the NCAA route is appealing; it keeps them there for at least an extra year. From a Finnish perspective your junior system is brutally wasteful - we need to nurse our talent, you have the masses just to let them fight it out which can be bit random actually. Anyway, the numbers are so different that we can't probably make meaningful comparisons.
