At 5v5, Marner hasn't been noticeable.

Matthews against Canada was "fine" or okay defensively but I really wish if Canada was going to lose that game, Matthews got a big goal or something.

Otherwise you just see in these games, the Tkachuks, McDavid, Crosby and MacKinnon types are just going for the kill every damn shift.

Matthews and Marner seem to have a harder time adapting to this type of intensity.

Even the biggest Marner hater would love to see him do well in elimination games because he plays for the Maple Leafs.

The fact is his drop off is so dramatic compare to his regular season productions is the reason why people want him gone.

Well, to be honest, if Canada doesn't win this tournament, I won't be losing sleep. But Marner playing well in pressure games is something he can build off of if he does it, which is still up in the air.

Yeah, I wouldn't compare McDavid to Matthews, but even Matthews to Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk and the results are dismal. The first sign that he's lost a step or two is Eichel being named 1C to go into the tournament. But at this point he's like sleepwalking through a Mark Scheifele level season while drawing down accrued superstar reputation. Just disappointing on the biggest stage alongside his peers.

I am at a point where I accept our boys as a whole bunch of Pippen instead of Jordan.
