Matthews has looked great so far

Yeah he looks faster and stronger than he did recently with the leafs.
I really really hope it’s adrenaline and not that he was dogging it with the leafs just to stay healthy.

Hughes isn't holding the puck forever and looks to shoot a lot more

Cooper consistently praises Marner. Wouldn't surprise me if TB makes a big pitch to Marner to join their team for next season.

I turned it off with 10 mins left because it was late and kind of boring hockey for international competition.

Glad Marner shot the puck. If he learns anything during this tournament hopefully it’s -1 shoot when you can and 2, maybe even more importantly, pass the puck with some zip on it. It was really noticeable how slow his passes were (and his feet) but he was smart enough to stay back and be the defensive forward.

Olympics next season should be even better quality, just wish the Russians were going too

Not sure you are understanding this is sports and not politics. Athletes have no say in the policies of their nations.

Politics often intersect with big time sports, and policies can have consequences. The IOC and IIHF have banned Russia and Belarus as a result.

Maybe watch beer league if you want politics-free hockey.
