The Cup will always be #1 for most, but most of these guys have never had a chance to play for their country at this level.

Absolutely. All of these guys and coaches seemed very happy to be there. And the building of course was electric.

Meh, the US brought the politics into it, so I don't mind. I think it's a much different scenario than when NYI boo'ed the Canadian anthem as an example.

Personally, I think I'd just sit through the anthem. Wonder if anyone would join.

Fentanyl mega labs in BC and organized crime in bed with our politicians brought the politics into it.

I'd rather the variety in opponents. Not sure how they expand this though as there are only so many NHL players to pick from. Maybe a team Europe (Germany/Russia/Czech etc) and young stars North America type of thing ?
 
I just realized that Finland will win this tournament.

Solely because I was thinking “you know what, there’s a 75 percent chance a Leaf will be celebrating an international championship so that’ll be a confidence boost in the post season.”
