Big names, big games. But that was maybe the worst game I've ever seen McDavid play, sheesh.

Binnington wouldn't have been my choice, but he absolutely stole that 3rd period/OT.

He admitted as much.

Great thing about being great is it only takes one chance to get something done.

The one beauty thing about some of the greatest players that separates them from the rest is that they can have the worst game of their lives, yet still end up making the biggest play of them all at the end.

This tournament turned out to be exciting despite many people thinking that the players wouldn't play hard. My only complaint is the games started too late in the east, especially if you need to get up early the next day. 830pm start means the 3rd period doesn't start until 1030pm and end well after 11pm. The west constantly complain about 5pm games and pandering to the east, this whole tournament pandered to the west. I'm glad that I had today off, but for many these games were too late.

He was great but he really shit the bed on the OT goal against and blew his assignment.
it was a massive error from Fox that led to Nelson making a mistake and leaving matthews in no mans land having to shade to the best playmaker on the ice. if Fox plays it right mcdavid is covered.

Kudos to Marner for pulling that puck to his stick and to McDavids stick in a split second when everyone else was fumbling pucks on the wall all night.

It confirmed for me that I prefer these international tournaments on North American size rinks.
That's always been the case, IMO. Olympic Ice just pushes the play further from the net.

I had no excitement for this tournament leading up to it. It took 9 seconds for that to change.

Although, I tend to get a lot done in 9 seconds, if I'm being honest.

This almost seemed like set play for Canada as well.

Fox played it very poorly.

Most casual fans can’t see the Fox error or understand the context of the play.

It wasn’t all on Matthews.
