He's been throwing the body as well. You want to see more offense but it's been very tightly checked.

Yea, i noticed the swap at the end.

Matthews has been dominant in pushing the play and playing a total game tonight. The US is doing a great job focusing on the the top guys and then letting their depth face Canadas (and they are winning that battle due to Helle)

Marner has probably the 4 or 5 best passes to set up a dangerous play for both teams and I don't think a single scoring chance was generated on any of them due to overpassing/hesitation.

Marner is gonna create or score a big goal in the 3rd and people are gonna say "so what? what about the playoffs?"

Did I say I blame him alone? He's our top RWer playing on out top line with our top player and has been MEH just like our top LWer.

It really seems like we are over analyzing Leafs in this atmosphere.

They have both created some really good chances tonight and Matthews has made a good hustle defensive play.

This is pretty much the best of the best on the planet and the game is fast and intense.

Lots of small plays seem to be flying under the radar.

No one is creating much so far.

But because neither is all that physical, they will need to find the scoresheet to really make an impact

I don't love the fit, ngl. I've said it a few times. With that being said, he's still been one of our best offensive players tonight. That's not saying much because we've been low on offense but Marner's looked.pretty.good.tn.
