Joe called Hayes by the name Nash twice on that pass in front. They are high up so I guess he just saw a tall lefty.
 
Would be nice if we didn’t sit Brendan Smith for trashbags in Kampfer and Holden.

Also, we couldn’t just let Lettieri play over Carey? Wtf.
 
Maybe I need to see another replay but do you guys really think that shot from behind the goal line goes in if Lundy is on top of his game and hugging that post?

This team is awful this season. One thing that was supposed to be better was the D and it's worse. We can score on the PP and that's it. Don't take a lot of penalties and you win by at least 3 every time.

That fourth line excites me as much as a Celine Dion paid meet and greet.

We don't need to fix the third pairing. We have two NHL calibre and tested defensemen that can play 14-16 minutes a night sitting in the press box.

That period by Kampfer is as bad as any that would warrant a benching, healthy scratch, and eternal damnation.

We will know whether Vigneault is about "accountability" or "I like his face so I'm going to keep him in my lineup".

I think in the 8 years I've been a member of this board 45% of total GDT posts have been either

A) Ripping on the coach, often in unproductive and not altogether clever ways...

B) Complaining about player X who poster thinks shouldn't be in the lineup or gets paid too much.

I feel like there is something sociological to learn from this behavior.

It is. Complete opposite of pretty much AVs entire tenure as coach here.

Which is a good thing. Because you have to hope they will improve with their 5-on-5 play as time goes on because historically they have been great. It is much harder to develop a great PP, which can be the difference between winning and losing most games.
 
Lundqvist made one tough nhl quality save in that period. Let up two goals on 7 shots. One because he’s slower than dirt getting back to the post.

He is VERY much part of the problem. Teams have breakdowns. Every team. Need your goalie to make saves. Not just the routine ones any AHL goalie can make.

This may be his last season honestly

You could not have said it better. It gets old especially when there aren't many posts to even read.

Bad penalty by Carey, but I don't really think he and the 4th line have been bad this season, they spend a fair amount of time in the offensive zone.
