3rd string goalie? We never had a chance, lose 1-0

We lost? Season's over, boys. Let's pack it up. The tank is on!!

Garon did this to the Kings back in the day when he was on the Habs.

Maybe Dean will trade for Hammond and hand him the starters job in a couple of years like DT did with Garon.

BTW, atleast the Sharks choked away a third period lead. Great night for the Flames. Kings, Sharks and Canucks all lose in regulation, Kings and Canucks losing to bottom feeding Eastern teams.

Sabres are obvious bottom feeders, the Sens maybe not so much, only 5 points out of a playoff spot..at least they are in contention so there is still motivation in their room to play with effort.

Still, it's a game you have to win versus a banged up team coming off a game the night before.

Chuck it out the window and move on.

That's what I am hoping for.

Stoll is done being a competitive center for a cup team. The play dies when he is on the ice.

It's time the Kings move on.

"Strength down center"- Exclaimed as the big plus for the Kings at the beginning of the year; can't be beat, etc., etc., etc. But when one of the centers doesn't come into camp and play like the second coming of Wayne Gretzky (or even Patrice Bergeron for that matter) and is continually put in position by the coach to fail, he's banished to the minors. Now we have coach's favorite falling out of favor, ice time going down, poor play, low point total, etc. and he's the new whipping boy. What are we to do with him now?

A great game. Lots of fun to watch. Both teams played well.

Sometimes you run into a hot goaltender. Sometimes you have a blown call go against you. **** happens. You can't win them on all.

this is my feeling on it. i just *knew* we were going to get shut out. so did Bob. he kept trying to jinx it. even jim called Hammond "a BAD guy!"

Kings lack a front of net presence. I would move Muzzin off the #1 PP unit and get Kopitar on the point and have Brown stand in front of the net.

gotta say, Herby, that kind of sounds awesome. and RP, i remember asking Hammond (the journalist, not the goalie) when Smyth got traded about who was going to possibly replace Smyth in front of the net. he didn't really know what to say...but suggested Handzus.

I still can't believe Toffoli didn't score that. You guys are right, it's hard to be critical after an 8 game winning streak but we should've/could've had a point tonight. Got robbed of a goal, too.

I thought Toffoli played really well. He generated a lot of chances. 6 shots

Toffoli looked great, and you could tell he was frustrated with the way Hammond was playing.

I mean, when your go-to move when the puck hits you and you have no clue where it is is "lie down," and it works, you know you're having one of those nights. Especially when when it doesn't work the goal gets called back.

Kings generated a ton of opportunities, played pretty well minus a defensive gaffe or two (expected when missing defensemen), just ran into the second coming of Joni Ortio. Sucks because they can't afford to lose points at this time of year, but we weren't going to win them all, better that it's an eastern opponent. I'd be more concerned if they play listless tonight, don't see any big reason for huge criticism.

Yep. I'm not complaining about McBain and McNabb, I think they're playing ot their current potential and I expect mistakes. Greene, we've seen how he can play, so his current play is unacceptable.

Kopitar is probably the 3rd best goal scorer on this team but he refuses to shoot the puck this season. Plus he's not getting Gaborik the puck, and he's not getting enough shots a game. The only guys who shoot the puck when Kopitar's line is on the ice are the defense men. The guys to conservative, he needs do be more aggressive in the offensive zone. Jeff Carter is the number 1 center on this team, he's out playing Kopitar.

Kopi loves keeping his ass glued to the boards or taking the puck behind the net. Most of the time his shift ends without even getting a shot off.

Both of them have been better than Greene, especially during the winning streak imo.

Not in disagreement, just my opinion as to what Sutter would do.

And you should have a sense of what he would do...after all, you are the Nose of Sutter.
