Caps played a playoff game. They played up to their opponent and the Rangers weren't up for it. Our former draft bust beat our guy, Ovie scored 2 and somehow the worst thing that happened was Mika got a lucky assist on the PP extending his leash.

On the plus side, Kakko/Fil/Cuylle continue to look great. Panarin struggling in a tight checking playoff style game was not fun to watch though. Point streak ded....

The Caps had almost NINE expected goals this game, for reference it was TWO expected goals more than we had against Montreal. Embarrassing and pathetic doesn't even begin to describe this game. I would literally take an 8-0 shutout where Shesterkin sucked over this garbage. I can't remember the last time the Rangers were anywhere near this bad. Absolutely f***ing pathetic.

That was ugly from the majority of the team but it’s time to start rotating some of the d out for jones and send Rempe back to the ahl. Not high on brodzinski but the 4th line is at least playable. Jones helps so much with transition and id rather watch him get bullied than our other “bigger” dman.

Outside of the Chytil line everyone sucked ass. They were a step behind the entire game. Washington reminded me of Carolina being super aggressive and throw everything on net. Meanwhile the Rangers offense minus the Chytil line was all perimeter play and Daniel Jones levels of cross ice pass interceptions

A team that decides it's going to play tough along the wall in this team's defensive zone is kryptonite for this team

That was just a bad performance from everyone not named Igor, Filip, Will and Kaapo. Brutal.

Mika again atrocious. Guy is afraid of contact, loses every board battle, isn’t aggressive with or without the puck and is kind of just lolly gagging all night. The nerve to complain about his ice time and act like he’s playing poorly bc he’s not getting the ice time is ridiculous. Some leader he is.

Chytil Kakko and Cuylle were more of a threat with 3 minutes to go than the 6v5 to close out the game. Imagine if they were rewarded for their play all game/season with….the extra skater at the end. Maybe reward effort and ability and not the past.

I hear ya man, but it’s early and they have pretty much the entire regular season to figure any issues out. Right now, the red hot teams in the league are going to lose some fire , it’s very hard to have a consistent run in an 82 game season.
