We really need a fourth line that harkens back to the Dom Moore and Brian Boyle days.

A solid 4th line is definitely taken for granted while you have it but when you have absolute plugs like McKegg and Haley out there it really makes it so noticeable.

Not for nothing but McKegg has wheels but his hockey sense and positioning is so bad that he’s ALWAYS in the WRONG place and he completely negates any positive impact his skating speed could bring to his game.

The hilarious (sad) part is that the best of the 4th liners we use is friggin Smith who’s a defenseman. That’s how much Haley, Howden and McKegg suck.

You're right. I really had hope for McKegg early on, after seeing his speed. But he just spins his wheels.

You're right. I really had hope for McKegg early on, after seeing his speed. But he just spins his wheels.

Yep he’s a guy who looks great in preseason bc he has speed and is trying his hardest to make the nhl squad. But you watch him for a few games and his lack of hockey sense and poor positioning really show you why he’s nothing more than a AAAA player.

It’s a shame bc with his speed he should be an effective nhler but he’s constantly in the wrong place and when he has the puck he holds on to it too long and forces a bad play.
