We've lived through the disbanding of Hagelin, Brassard, Zuccarello. Lias and Kreids are both goners too for Mika. This is just the way it has to be.

Hall went early. I don't see why Kreider can't go early as well. He's playing superb and looking physical and strong and he's the best of the class now.

Being able to skate makes a big difference at this level. We need to prioritize skating in the draft more often.

Which is why I still shake my head at the Andersson pick. The Rangers have always made skating a priority in the past.

I prioritized hockey sense over skating (both of which I consider the two most important attributes for players to have), but I might start to prioritize skating now. It does make a huge difference. I see more players with good skating and not-so-good IQ make it over the reverse. As (I believe) @Machinehead said, as long you can skate, there’s a place for you in the NHL.
