DECEMBER SCHEDULE:

QUOTES TO NOTE:

Last two games are a reminder for us how hard we have to work and how well we have to play to get points.
We’re one of those teams that’s going to battle to get in to the playoffs, so we need our best effort every night to have a chance.
We came up a little short here against a really skilled team.
- Henrik Lundqvist

It’s a sour feeling.
We had a tough game against the Devils where we didn’t have a great effort collectively, and tonight it was just so-so at times.
- Ryan McDonagh

We wanted to win. We didn't win, so we get three days.
It's Christmas for everybody. I want the guys to relax and enjoy it and we'll get ready for the game on the 27th.
- Alain Vigneault

Execution matters, and I don't want to get stuck with NYR playing Tampa Bay in the first round.

All points are crucial. Wonder if we'll see more of Mc-Holden or Skjei/Staal up against Ovechkin

So Buch on the 4th line again? AV has sucked the fun out of this season. I remember when changing lines every game was Torts' biggest knock. Looks like AV is doing the same.

Sometimes I wonder if we, fans, are really ignorant about Hockey or these coaches just like to mess with hockey logic to be the smartest man in the room.

If I was the coach I'd be emphasizing shot suppression in practice. More third man deep, more wheeling back, less forced passes.

There's a reason why 'keep it simple' is a near universal coaching tactic during tough times. Play some cynical hockey and find your defensive game, then work on rebuilding the offensive scheme.

Over/under for the amount of times NBC mentions the Shattenkirk/Caps as former team narrative will be set at 12.

You mean, like, do what you're always supposed to do?
BREAKING NEWS

"Pressuring the puck carrier in their defensive zone to cause a turnover and create a chance for your team to score. A revolutionary idea in the world of hockey. How does it work, when is it most effective, and how can I get my team to do it more? Find out more at 11."

NO! We will turnover the puck and have shit zone coverage and try to hit our homerun passes
