This is why I'm not ready to say the defense lacks the ability to be good.
They put way too much pressure on the puck carrier. That is something you're told to do. Instead of staying out-manned on the outside, e.g. 2 Leafs 1 Ranger near the corner, 2-3 Rangers go out there to take the puck. Then instead of having 2 players in the crease, we'll have one, or something similar. There's ALWAYS opposite open in the slot.

Vesey isn't what we thought/hoped he would be, but he always heads toward the net. Wish some of his supposedly more talented teammates did the same.
He's been more focused on it since the beginning of the year.. His north south game is keeping him in the league.. I wish Miller would take a note on this too

Vigneault's not getting fired. At least not during the season.

They're a playoff team and have a soft upcoming schedule, albeit for a few games. There is no pressure from the rest of the division and the bottom half of the East stinks.

Team has obvious holes but firing Vigneault doesnt help when you consider the weak list of available coaches.

He should have been fired after he lost the Ottawa series by himself last year.

There is literally nothing that is or should be considered a "soft" schedule when it comes to this team.

How about this guy and his dog? It looks like an improvement.

I almost wish this team's problem was just defense. How often does the team spend no time in the other team's zone all game? We've been worse offensively this game than defensively.

At least we're not going to go into the deadline thinking we're going to compete for the cup. Nash for a 1st, Grabner for a 1st, Holden for a 4th, Deharnais for a 6th, trade the 4th and 6th round picks to buy back Lindberg and pretend like this entire season didn't happen.

Our team system is hope they turn it over then hope we can hit a hail mary pass and get numbers and score on the rush.

Huh? Pitt is 3 points behind and if Carolina and Philly win tonight which is entirely possible they would also be 3 points behind. This team could easily miss the playoffs.
