We would have messed up his development anyway. Anaheim sent him back to college in his D+1, let him spend ~20+ games in the AHL in his D+2, and then gave him 15-17 minutes TOI/G with powerplay time when he came up to the NHL team. If he were here, he would have been in the NHL lineup in his D+1 getting 12 minutes a night with no PP time and 4th liners on his wing. Kids develop with minutes. We rush our forwards so they don't actually get those minutes. It amazes me that they keep making the same mistake with forward prospects.
