I don't know, this was a weird game. All I could think about throughout the game, was what a good team Vegas has. What a difference in opponents. The Ducks were like the gang that couldn't shoot straight. They gotta be better than what we just saw. There was no pressure at all from them. We were two steps ahead of them the whole night. We had so much time and space it was ridiculous. We won this game by default. I'm not saying the Rangers didn't play well, but honestly, the Ducks did not show up tonight.

Vegas on the other hand impressed the hell out of me. They pressured us all over the ice. They did not give us any room to breathe. The Knights I believe will be a strong playoff contender. The Ducks on the other hand, should start to think of booking their fishing trip early.

Just weird. I never really think of the opposition during games, but with the drastic difference between the two opponents we just faced, it's all I was thinking about.
Can I super like this post? It's amazing to me, how those thoughts were exactly what mine were....when evaluating the last two games. I mean, one can say that we really weren't on our game versus Vegas, but the Knights certainly were. This game, were we really that good? Probably not. It was more like Anaheim was bad, but definitely something in between. Hey, I'd rather lose to a good team in Vegas, then beating Vegas and losing to Anaheim.

Vegas has their warts just like most contenders do. Their power play is still extremely suspect as is their secondary scoring. After they put up 5 against us, they laid an egg with one goal against lowly Chicago.

I simply don't trust a DeBoer team to score consistently enough in the playoffs with his ass backwards system where everything in the offensive zone must run through the defensemen.

Anaheim didn't have a good game, not sure it it was because of us or just an off night, either way we did a good job on the win.

Add Eichel and Pacioretty to that lineup and the puck will have no choice but go in the net. The biggest obstacle Vegas had the last couple years was they had no number 1 center, they added that and now they have Stephenson and Karlson slotted appropriately. I already put a bet on them to win the cup, looks great as long as Eichel is back to himself.

Long way to go between here & there. Vegas' problem the past two playoffs was a bit deeper than there was just no "1c". Both of their "#1" lines disappeared & their power play was less than 10%, which both can be traced to PDB's horrible game plan. Dallas, Vancouver & Montreal all figured out how to keep everything they do to the outside, limiting their high danger chances.

With that said, I'm extremely curious what they look like with Eichel & who gets moved for cap space. With Stephenson playing as well as he is, they'll be extremely balanced down the middle with Eichel. I think your gamble could absolutely pay off, but hockey is a funny sport. So many things need to go right in the playoffs.

I have major doubts. They are built for regular season IMO. They don't play playoff hockey so the deeper they go, they get suffocated and don't know what to do.

Doboer is a loser. They will get knocked off in the semis or conference finals.
