For those who missed it, Couturier dropped out of last game at the last minute for personal reasons. I've not seen any updates as to the nature of said reasons or if they are resolved so I left him out

then they switched it to 6x?? a year, which was fine

Now - I genuinely think they killed off the rivalries

He may be too slow for center at this point in his career.
And he never was a playmaker in his prime (had G for that). More of a goal scorer.
At LW he could be a very good goal scoring PF, similar to Mark Stone.

However, while Laughton is playing better this season, don't see him as a center either.
Top speed last four seasons: 22.58, 22.24, 22.12, 21.71, 20+ bursts follow a similar decline path.
He can be sheltered at LW, more exposed at C.

Couturier is a center and that is his best position. His game was never built on speed but on his strong positioning and elite level hockey sense. He just needs to be moved down in the lineup. Laughton is having a down season overall compared to last season.
