I have to think Andrae is banged up, probably from that concussion-like hit.

I know Torts said he wasn’t playing well and giving Zamula a shot, and that’s fine. But against a team like the Wild, you go with Andrae 11 times out of 10.

I was just thinking the same. Remember when every regular season game was 30+ pages and had to get a separate post game thread to stay under the post limit? Games against the Pens were 10+ pages before the puck even dropped.
To face facts, the Philly fans are not stupid. They’re not going to be conned into believing that this is a good club when it isn’t. Going around the area and observing things shows that interest in the Flyers has slid to almost the pre Lindros era.
Michkov might save the organization going forward but the Flyers need more than that. There’s a sense of incompetence hanging over it. Ten years of muddling along makes an organization worthy of being ignored. Bringing in Tortorella’s dog and pony show hasn’t enhanced the Flyers image except in places where knuckle draggers exist.
The reality is that the Flyers have become merely a yawn between the two more dynamic sports franchises in the city; the Phillies and the Eagles. They’ve become a mediocre franchise in a niche sport. Big changes need to be made here by Comcast or the Flyers and the NHL are going to be relegated to permanent insignificance.

Elegible for an extension 7/1/2027
Seeler owes the Flyerss big time. He was ready to quit and fortunately there was still one caveman organ-i-zation left in the NHL. Seeler --"Me love Ian; me block shot". Flyers - "ok you're hired at double the term and double the AVV"

I've looked around the usual discussion spots the last few years and there is a ridiculous dip in fan engagement. They've hauled out a terrible product for a decade, proudly, while talking down at anyone who doesn't like it, and shitting all over players fans liked to watch.

They're really slaughtering their own future to pander to Clarke and his friends now. Hope they feel extra special now that the team does everything they want. Hopefully someone somewhere is getting something out of the experience.

They're barely making any effort to market him! It's all about the f***ing bottom roster guys. The message during games is "the skill guys suck" and then they hype up the most ineffective dudes on the ice.

Nobody has any reason to watch that and get excited.

They don't try to market Michkov because they've been clear they don't want to put too much pressure on him.

Just look at Michkov v Kaprizov (27), the difference between a 19 year old and a player in his prime with similar skill packages.

Michkov is so good that when he hits his prime (probably at 22 or so) he'll draw oodles of attention.
Right now he's an adventure, will he do something special or totally screw up?

They don't want to market Michkov because they scorn skill. They want as little as they think they can get away with (enough to fill a line or two) and they probably wish they could swap all that out for grinders, too. You know they grind their teeth at TK failing on high risk high reward plays while going gaga for the 4th liners. They spent an entire segment gushing over Risto making the most routine defensive plays. Meanwhile, Sanheim is ignored and Andrae/Zamula get dumped on.

They didn't market Giroux or Couturier either. It has nothing to do with avoiding pressure and everything to do with their core values. The same values that wreck the roster.

You can act like we don't have many years of reference for this.

Hell, the usage and portrayal of Sanheim and Ghost vs Hagg and Provorov tells you everything you need to know about what the team values and how management values influence message. We had that hot mic moment where JJ accidentally admitted it was all a front and they clearly have guidance on how to present the team and players.

They squash the fun and successful for the boring and failed, then try to tell us we should be excited. Fans who watch can sense the BS. And the total futility

Beef, this is conspiracy theorist stuff.

The Flyers have no control over what the NBC Sports broadcast says about the team.

Just like with Maine, they’re separate entities and have absolutely no connection.

Shame on you, Bif.

Briere doesn't appreciate skill? He was a grinder?

If they had a problem with this game, it was the lack of players going to the net.
Don't know if it was caution (not wanting to get caught up ice) or just a reluctance to do so against a physical team on the road.

Torts doesn't love grinders, he loves fast, aggressive forwards who attack on the forecheck, quick hitting transition plays and D-men who'll join the rush.
This team doesn't need figure skaters, it needs fast, aggressive forwards with the hands to convert scoring opportunities into goals.
Hathaway is Tort's dream forward IF he didn't have hands of stone.

"It's a breakaway, yeah, oh shit it's Hathaway . . ."
