The rule just needs to be clarified to directly state that a skate that stays on the ice doesn't not constitute a 'kick'. Most of the time, it's be interpreted as such, outside of a few outliers.

The kicking rule is really designed for safety. So amend the rule to make it all the clearer.

But I hate every homer that comes out of the woodwork on these plays to say, "...only against the Rangers". That's nonsense.

dude really!!!! i haven't been on here long but seems to me most on here are objective, i'm totally objective! and after further further review it was a NO GOAL!

DUDE!!!!!!! CAM NONECK JANNSEN< REALLY

Same here.

It's hard enough to score goals in this league, if you can somehow kick a puck into the net it's not like we're gonna see some sort of crazy point explosion. And disallowing every one that goes off of a skate accidentally seems unnecessary, so just allow kicks to count.

I remember a disallowed goal by Matt Cullen during his stint here when he kicked in a puck that was behind him out of mid-air, which was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen on skates. Just allow it.

This game reminds me why I hate the Devils so much, haven't seen a Ranger game with this much intensity in quite some time.

They should make it where you can never score off the skate. Players would start kicking their legs around to try to deflect the puck in, and you'll see a lot more players getting cut.

It's a safety issue. No matter how impressive it can be in the coordination of these guys, you can't have people swinging a skate blade around in a condensed area like the net.

I disagree, but regardless I'd like to see it go one way or the other. Trying to analyze leg angles and hip motions to determine intent is just so ridiculous.
