Just trying to sway some of the chatter away from comparing Stepan/Backstrom and playoff announcers....

Is anyone else really intrigued/excited to see what kind of impact Nash is going to have these playoffs?

I'm not a huge Tortorella fan but I've heard him say many times this year that Nash has come to the Rangers at a great time in his career, and I agree. He has shown sometimes that his skill and brute force can be game-changing and downright dominant at times...

A great Torts quote I saw on another site regarding nash is: "Nash doesn't speak, he plays."

I think he is hungry to take the next step in establishing himself as a playoff performer, as he only really had one chance in Columbus against a great Detroit team.

I'm always excited for playoff hockey, but I am really excited to see what Nash can do with this opportunity..... I pray I'm not getting my hopes up

Excited to see Nash against Green, Carlson and Hillen.

Not to excited to see how he's going to do against Erskine, Schultz and Alzner.

The bigger more physical guys can contain him. It's the smaller, less physical guys that Nash will abuse.

Going to be interesting.

3:20 to the end of the video. Unprofessional-ism at it's finest.

Why is that un-professional?

If he's an announcer and he's a fan of the Bruins what is the issue?

I would rather hear that for or against my team than some dude sounding like he smoked a blunt

To me, hockey is a VERY meotional game and I WANT to her that come through from the announcers.

One of my favorite calls was the Malik stick between the legs goal in the 15th round of the shootout. It straight up described my thoughts to a T, but people **** on him for the way it sounded.

What I do not like is when it's forced and fake much like John Sterling after a Yankees win.

in 96 when it was original, fresh and honest, I loved it. Now he sounds like he's about to cry when he says it and it's as fake as fake can be.

I miss Gary Thorne calling NHL games. I thought he and Clement were fantastic back in the ESPN days.

My favorite one.

IT WOULD NOT GOOOOOOOOOO

I am missing the word "careened" or something like that.

We should have the Doc Emerick drinking game rules in the first post for every NBC televised game.

Richter had one of the best games of his career that game.... The save on Damphousse was remarkable. My favorite ranger of all time and its not even close

(6) Rangers over (3) Caps in 6: If coach John Tortorella can resist the temptation to shorten an already depleted bench by the second period of Game 1 and if the Blueshirts can stay out of the box, Henrik Lundqvist should carry his team to victory. Rangers had the third-best 5-on-5 goal ratio in the NHL at 1.30, trailing only Chicago (1.53) and Pittsburgh (1.35). Caps’ 2.71 GAA is second-worst among playoff qualifiers.

Conference Semis:

East:

(7) Senators over (1) Penguins in 7

(6) Rangers over (5) Maple Leafs in 6

West:

(1) Blackhawks over (7) Red Wings in 5

(5) Kings over (6) Sharks in 5

Conference Finals:

East: (7) Senators over (6) Rangers in 6

West: (1) Blackhawks over (5) Kings in 7

Stanley Cup Final: Blackhawks over Senators in 6

Game 6 is on May 12. Rangers-Caps game 7 last spring was on May 12. The Rangers were up 2-0 when Roman Hamrlik made it 2-1.

hi...caps fan with correct info. carslon is big and physical. dont let the puck mover part confuse you. green is far more physical than alzner who is a positional dman. schultz is a scratch. oleksy in his place is very physical. hillen is small. that one you were correct about.

The Rangers need Stepan to step up. I heard an interview with Derek today. He seems ready to go.

Stepan had 1 goal and 9 points in 20 playoff games.

Callahan got hurt in the Ottawa series. He had a hand injury. Callahan needs to be Callahan.

They need someone to score some big goals. Someone to be John Druce. Rick Nash time.

Hagelin had 3 assists in 17 games.

Torts can't play 4 D. He has to use Moore and Eminger. It looks Staal could be back. Who knows what to expect? He hasn't played since March 5. Almost 2 months ago.

Here's hoping Stepan drives Green into the 3rd row again.

Torts seems to trust Moore, so he'll get some time. Eminger not so much.
