Taylor Swift at the Verizon Center on the 11th and 12th, wonder if that will make game 5 Friday the 10th, and game 6 Sunday the 12th at MSG.
The NHL's handling of this playoff-schedule release makes its handling of the lockout seem downright masterful.

The Rangers played their best and most consistent hockey in the fourth and fifth months (January and February) last year.
This year they are clicking around the same time. Except now, because of the lockout, it happens to be as the playoffs are starting. I wasn't sure if this group was going to come around, but it seems as if they are doing just that and at the best possible time.
They keep the series at even strength and they win in five or six.
If they give the Caps PP lots of ice time they don't get out of the Quarters..
Relax; we'll win this series in 6 games. As strange as it may seem, I have a good feeling about this team because I believe "Through Adversity Comes Strength."

Four days off between last game of regular season and Game 1, but Rangers-Caps Games 6 and 7 would be back-to-back. Asinine.

Why can't game 7 be on the 14th?

The NHL really sucks with scheduling!
Please tell me those first four games aren't exclusive to NBC/NBCSN.
I want Sam and Joe, not Doc, EddieO, and Pierre!
Could you imagine Sam calling Richards' game 5 goal last year, or Gaborik's 3OT goal?![]()
Should be our playoff avatar...
I agree Drew.......i actually feel more confident with this years team than last years team for some reason. We are deeper and more balanced with the scoring lines. As long as Clowe is good to go and Boyle doesn't play much, if at all
And this year.....Nash over soft as Charmin' Gabby is a HUGE upgrade. Now is Staal comes back at some point, sooner than later.....I am feeling good about this team. Last year...we had an amazing record by end of Jan...and then played .500 hockey from there on in. Did not go into the Playoffs on an upswing. This year....with ll the adversity and ups and downs.....but now starting to go on the upswing at the right time. Hopefully ala the Kings![]()
The Chicago-Minnesota series also has a back-to-back game 6 and 7.
