Again, lacking talent but having an NHL body isn't desirable, that's Justin Bailey. It's not about talent, it's about having a "NHL body."
Hughes had talent but clearly was undersized and lacked strength. Didn't break out until he was 20.
Bedard is a little undersized but bigger than Hughes, and had a better rookie season.
Nico is full sized and a had a fine rookie season (also Jan B-day)
Luchanko has NHL size, top speed, the issue is going to be his offensive skill package, he hasn't been a liability defensively, has made some rookie mistakes, but better at 18 than Frost at 20 (Frost has made a lot of progress the last few years, both defensive awareness and adding strength, but he's now 25).
I think he'd probably be better off going back to the CHL, but I'd like to see how he looks the next seven games. If he shows significant progress as he acclimates to NHL play, it's not outrageous that they keep him up, if he flatlines or regresses, it's an easy decision to send him down. He'd easily be the 1C on LHV, but that's not an option.

He's already better than Bailey, heck, he's probably better than Poehling or Laughton at this point.Again, lacking talent but having an NHL body isn't desirable, that's Justin Bailey.
You should want more from your 13th OA pick than that.
1) No he isn't, and no one can even know if he is for another 40 games of play time or so. To say otherwise is nothing but unfiltered hopium. He's already better than Bailey, heck, he's probably better than Poehling or Laughton at this point

Hughes took 2 years but seemed to find a shot in the NHL. Part of shooting is upper body strength, and some of that comes with physical maturity. See Michkov.Nononono. Set aside the ridiculous talent gap and join me on a trip down memory lane.
You've said that you're specifically concerned with Luchanko's Shot holding him back. The entire reason some people who only went surface deep thought Hughes had a bust of a rookie year and thus was "rushed" was that he was arguably the worst Shooting Forward in the entire league. He was a 99th Percentile transition player from Day 1. He generated high quality chances no one else was finishing either. The entire problem was the puck not going in the net.
You could not have picked a worse example given your stated question about '24-25 Luchanko.
Good thing I was or it could have been worsenow you see why i am generally not high enough for some of these takes
The staff at Guelph is probably better than the staff in LehighHughes took 2 years but seemed to find a shot in the NHL. Part of shooting is upper body strength, and some of that comes with physical maturity. See Michkov.
I'd prefer Luchanko in the AHL (like many top foreign players have done at 18), but I don't think Luchanko will die in the NHL if he shows he can handle the pace (next 7 games will tell).
He'd get a lot more shooting opportunities in the CHL, but how good is the staff at Guelph (London for example has a reputation for excellent coaching)?
Cory Stillman, HC 1025 games at forward.
