Most fan bases get to enjoy a Finals run but it takes 25 years. 14 teams have won, 24 total have been in the Finals. Only 8 franchises have not made the Finals. Tampa, Pittsburgh and New Jersey have been the most frequent at 4 or more:

One stat people should maybe find interesting is the W column and how only one major hockey market is in that column. And that organization now is also no longer close.

As hard as the last 15 years have been for buffalo, they just missed the cut by one year to get themselves off this donut list.

Sigh...you must be lots of fun in parties....As a Florida resident, it's called Tampa for me :)

Tampa Bay is a body of water, and it’s called just Tampa, from a friend who lives there.

The sports teams all have "Tampa Bay" in the name, although the name of the city is Tampa (that said, the Tampa Bay Rays' ballpark is in the city of St. Petersburg).

Obviously 2000 is a nice round number so it's fine to start this thread with "since 00", but keep in mind Buffalo did make the finals literally in 1999.

From the others:

Minnesota, Utah, Winnipeg, Columbus and Seattle are all either expansion teams and/or relocating teams.

Which only leaves 2 teams with really long gaps:

NY Islanders. Yup, everyone knows it. Fantastic dynasty in the 80s with 4 straight cups, but it has been a long while, with no finals since 84.

Toronto - which is just a laughing stock, with no finals since 67.
