No, we're alluding to the things he should change in his game, but some people here seem to get so offended by that and think we're saying that he sucks. There's a big difference.

Clearly we are reading different posts.....

No need to get snippy about it...i wasn't referring to you and i don't think PK was either..

What's the most difficult part about playing back-to-back nights? The second game.

Would like to not see Del Zotto/Girardi on powerplays. Staal/McDonagh/Moore/Richards can just be the point men.

Yeah, I'm starting to suspect that Del Z is never going to come together as a PPQB. He just doesn't have the think speed. He will end up a really good two way Dman. But he probably won't turn into that franchise offensive Dman.

Its just the same mistakes over and over again...

I was always patient with Del Zotto, but the fact that he is still making the same mistakes he made as a rookie is very concerning. This is his 5th season in the NHL - if he hasn't adjusted by now, I'm not sure if he ever will.

It's basically a certainty that he won't. He's not a guy you say has a 10 cent head, because he's smart enough to be a good middle pairing two-way d-man, but he simply doesn't have the IQ to utilize all of his gifts and he won't be able to learn that.

Right, so what's wrong in this period. Well, the sharks are just skating better. Look at how they are moving all over the place in the rangers zone. This fits in perfectly when the rangers are giving away the puck every third posession. Rangers needs to stop making stupid giveaways and start anticipating Sharks movement. Zone defense is fine, but when you're just standing still and the other player is already going at full speed, you're going to have a difficult time keeping up.

Hank also needs to stop that first goal.

For any Rancid fans, Lars just posted a pic from this game.

Hows does one stop the puck when they cannot see the puck? Devil's advocate: By being in position. I hope Hank shutting the door on Couture get's his confidence going.

All in all it was a good time to go to intermission. We still have some PP time left. We get to start with a man advantage and we have time to regroup and get our intensity up. Perfect opportunity to come out aggressive, get some momentum, maybe even it up and set the tone for the next 40 minutes.

It's common to see a team on back to back nights get pretty manhandled in the first period.

It's how they play the 2nd and the 3rd that will show their gumption.
