honestly other than getting robbed point blank how was lias noticeable? He never touched the puck. Quinn doesn’t want to play him. How do you keep saying he’s noticeable or playing well?

I like Vally but he's bringing up a 5 on 3 that happened early in the game even before the Kakko goal why they lost the game. They lost because they have zero energy 2/3 of this game.

That was a horrific effort. Team looked slow and lazy. They didnt compete. They didnt skate hard. Barely possessed the puck. It was brutal.

And we maybe couldve stole a point but hey Lemieux decided to be a selfish asshole
 
This does not look ideal. And the Staal-DeAngelo pairing is awful.

He wasn’t a reason they lost today. Sorry, not today.

Two fluke goals (one of which goes in directly off Trouba)and goal shot through a 4 layers screen with no defenders trying to clear the lane. On a day where the entire team looks like shit why are we blaming the goalie other than the fact that it’s the narrative. Judge these games for the game itself and what we see on the ice today. Today Lundqvist was one of the few guys to show up.

There’s a long ass list of issues to actually complain about. Piss poor defensive zone coverage. Seemingly every time the Oilers has the puck in our zone our guys are standing and watching and not clearing sight lines for the goalie or taking away passing lanes. Just don’t nothing. Basically every shot has a screen or traffic in front or a tip. The team was incapable of getting through the neutral zone all day. Only one like is capable of applying any pressure. Their penalty kill was too passive and looked very bad. Dumb penalty by Lemieux gifting the Oilers the winning goal. How many odd man rushes did Edmonton have? Too many whatever it was. How many high quality chances did we have? Not even close to enough.

Kakko: looked good almost the entire game. Rewarded with his first goal. Needs to be elevated.

Staal: good job helping contain the Oilers top line for the first 2 periods. They only had 2 shots through 2. Other pairings had issues against them in the 3rd and they were able to get a couple.

Panarin: easily the most talented forward we have. No disrespect to Zibanejad. He is a puck magnet, and made a great defensive play on that 2 on 0. Never gives up on the puck.

What is so harmful about trying Lias between Kakko and Kreider? Strome isn't the solution there.

The Rangers' solution at 2C isn't in the organization yet. Some combination of Buchnevich, DeAngelo, and any defensive prospect not named Fox, Miller, or Lundkvist is the bait to acquire that player,

I'm assuming you mean trading Kreider this summer? How do you know what he was offered for Kreider? would you have taken a late first rounder or a second and a b level prospect for Kreider?

Vally is a moron if you take the analytics away. He has absolutely no nuance.
 
Brutal performance from just about everyone, maybe excluding Fox. Same old same old, and sure maybe they were rusty but man it just seems like the same problems always rear their head. Neutral zone is an open invitation for the opposing team, losing puck battles galore, can't sustain any sort of offensive pressure and when they do they always have to look for the perfect shot and overpass instead of making the simple play.
