They are still getting their timing back. Its only game 3 after a 6 months off and no preseason games.
The Rangers need C help in the worst way. They should absolutely be sniffing around Dubois.

Do Kakko and Laf even play a combined 20 mins in any of these games? God forbid if we had steady line combos for 2 games.

Anyway, best Ranger tonight by far was Fox. Every one else seemed tentative and slightly off their game. Play the kids more, let them learn as they play. And please take Strome off that 1st PP and demote him to the 3rd or 4th line.

I love that Panarin and Zibanejad are stars here but I do not need to see them carry us every night. Quinn, we want to see Kakko and Lafreniere develop. If he can’t turn them into stars then I give f*** all about your 8th seed playoff births, you can shove them up your a**, they are meaningless to us.

I get the connection; college, young guys. But in reality the culture in college hockey is that you spam your seniors and the new guys shovel shit until they have enough credits to be in your lineup. Sound familiar?

Lots of great young goalies are inconsistent, yet they get more consistent with practice. This was Georgiev’s second game in like a year. He was bound to have a bad one soon.

Shesterkin needs to be be the #1 moving forward. DeAngelo needs to be in the lineup every night. We need to stop trying to be cute with the lineup.

Really wasn’t a bad game. Goaltending was the difference in this one, a couple of bad goals from George. Quinn, most likely goes to Igor next game. The PP is very good until Strome gets involved. Would move Kakko or Buch up there in replace of Strome.
Fox now with 3 points in the last 3 games, playing great defense, he is continuing his great play from his rookie season, really good sign.
I thought Kakko was good, not sure why he was demoted or benched. Quinn needs to give these kids longer leashes. Only way they are going to learn, and play through their mistakes.

Yes for the latter. He's a fine backup. You don't play your backup two games in a row especially this season where every game means so much more than usual (short season/division opponents) unless we are playing the Islanders I guess.
