It's fine, Ed.
I myself said it's fine to trade with inactive teams, as long the league veto is there. Now I guess the league veto period for this one was sometime between when I went to bed at 11:30 and woke up at 5:30, but whatever.
You acquired the best non-McDavid fantasy player, the centerpiece and leading scorer of a historically good team. You acquired him from a player who literally has not made another transaction in the year 2023, who has two players on IR on their active roster, and several players who could easily be upgraded by other guys on waivers (but again, the guy isn't actually playing). So it's just funny to see that guy, who I have tried to trade with and never even received responses from, magically making a move to surrender the #2 fantasy player in the dead of the night. To the guy who just complained about this very thing.

You can't write it better than that.
I mean it was nice of you to give back Pettersson, who is a fantastic player in his own right, to at least give the appearances of it being a sort of fair deal. Clearly the guy was pressed for a center for his playoff push and was willing to take the ~100-point drop-off in value to make it happen!
It's all good. There's no money, it's all for fun. It's just gotten stupid and I'm definitely out next year, although I am appreciative of the fact that I was invited and now know how much fun fantasy hockey can be, in theory.
