yes, but don’t players have to be activated off of IR to play? If he or McCann aren’t announced as activated tonight, then they can’t play, right?
I believe they are required to be on IR for 10 days, so the earliest Marino would be able to play would be Saturday's game.

i guess it’s not that weird then, if he can’t go today they might as well bank the cap

I thought it was 7 days, not 10...and that makes him eligible to play tonight and same with McCann but they haven’t been activated from IR...don’t they need to be activated despite being labeled a “game time” decision by Sully?

I think the Pens drop this one...we’re bad at b2bs and we absolutely suck against goalies we’ve never seen or heard of before and add in the fact that the Bs are due for more puck luck...

Yeah, I think we're now past the "sell by" date on Pasta missing open nets. Was fun (and terrifying) while it lasted, though!

Not quite. They're rewarding him for good play in WBS. WBS doesn't play til Friday and he's getting paid the same... but with NHL per diem.

And the taxi squad requires at least 4 players, so why not him?

The taxi squad also practices with the big team, no? Might be a good way to get some eyes on him here in Pittsburgh.

Yohe penned an interesting interview with JR in The Athletic. He loved Fleury, tried really hard to get him back, was willing to pay a lot for him. Also comes out strongly that he would never trade one of the big three. Poof goes my theory he wanted to move Letang. Doesn't get to the specifics of why he resigned, but it seems logical to infer he wanted to fire Sully but couldn't. Also possible his feelings were hurt the Pens had yet to talk extension as he was on the last year of his contract and annoyed by a "wait and see" team posture.
