Arniel is a moron. It was at 40% for that streak, and the minute it regressed back to the norm (which is still likely a top 5 PP) he tried to be smarter than he is and come up with new plays and formations.Having a good powerplay was nice while it lasted
That entire second unit does. Put any kind of pressure on them and they are toastSick of Vesey on the powerplay, the kid handles the puck like a live grenade
More of less this is how Pittsburgh has been for a decade. They stave you off and then beat with you star power when they get the chance.Great 1st
Looked like Nash fell on his leg kind of sideways during a scrum. Normal kind of stuff leading up to it but one of those awkard ugly things for Schultz.I missed it - was it Schultz? What happened?
This happens every year... About 15-20 games in our PP dies because people have tape on what we do.. Arniel is a one-trick pony
True, but when Zib is back, I expect the PP will be back to normal. Not having the two RH shots on the PP, and Zib is probably our best entry guy. It's not a great thing. And it was just Shattenkirk to Zibanejad.
You didn't even need tape to figure it out.
They don't seem to have the same good cycle that they often had. I have found them to be not as good defensively the last season (compared to a few seasons ago) and that forechecking them hard was a good component to increasing your chances. Their goaltending has been good though other than when Fleury did a grand meltdown, which was not all that often. Then Murray came in, seemed to show one main weakness glove side, but otherwise always did a great job.Except for drawing the penalty, Nash was not good. Sully says we are employing a left wing lock to slow them through the neutral zone. But Pens are so fast on their transition, damn.
