How the heck is he still a rookie? Anyone want to explain?

A rookie needs three reqirements.

-No more than 25 games in any one season

-No more than 6 games in any two seasons

-Must be under 25

Kreider played 23 in 2013 prior to this season and obviously isn't 25. He barely makes it.

Rookie Qualifications
To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie.

He played 23 last season

NHLnet showing that the Van PP is 27th in the league and has difficulty setting up in the zone

2nd goal:

12:37 NYR Chris Kreider (4) Wrist shot - ASST: Rick Nash (4), Derek Stepan (13)
16:54 NYR PPG - Chris Kreider (5) Tip-in - ASST: Ryan McDonagh (9), Brad Richards (12)

Great period. Canucks had what 3 good chances? Keep it up.

Kreider for hatty pls.

As a guy who has been critical of Kreider, I love the hockey he is playing right now.

He has figured out how to best use his skills in this league.

You lose your rookie status if

A. You play 25 regular season games in a previous season, OR
B. You play 6 regular season games in two previous seasons, OR
C. You're 26 years old

Kreider played 23 regular season games last year. None before that (playoffs only).

That play Girardi made is right 95% of the time. I suppose he should have been aware that McD was driving the slot, but that play was instinctual and correct if everyone was in "normal" position. Not going to get worked up about that one.

Try looking at all the great plays he makes !!!

No Al, they don't practice without sticks. They're not mites. What kind of hockey archeologist are you.

It is strange that everybody say Callahan is ready for the Olympics but not many consider Kreider has a shot at making it. Just look how many different players he upset on the other teams

kreider stickin it to torts!!!!! good for him, hahahah canucks 27th in league in PP, sam says torts asked if chase seat were new???? how observant is torts??? i should not even ask that question considering how oblivious he is to his powerplay!!! nice pass girardi lol

and AV has to now reconsider who our #1 goalie is, the kid cannot continue to sit behind a # 1 with a significant loss to win record

Kreider is looking like a completely different player under AV, love it. McDonagh becoming a threat offensively.. That deal he signed will prove to be a steal. What a player! Talbot hasn't been tested but looks so calm, stellar backup.
