the 3rd line thing is no longer an excuse.

you don't stop trying to score because you are on the 3rd line.

that's part of the problem.

every line should be trying to score goals.

the only way we get better is to have three lines capable of scoring.

the concept of two scoring lines, one checking line and a 4th line for breathing purposes cripple's our teams chances.

We're not a very talented group that we can rely on the top two line to carry the offensive load.

To be successful, we need three lines capable of scoring and a 4th line that can do the checking and provide the top 9 a breather.

how many do poo and hags have? they were on the third line with him.

I know we don't want to break up the CMD line, but I wonder how they would be if they were to switch around with Hagelin or Nash.

I hate these lines

Really? I've been very impressed by the bottom six tonight. If our top 6 starts buzzing we're a very dangerous team.

Almost 6 minutes of relentless forecheck in the offensive zone. Good first period except for the first 4 minutes

Callahan could be the least skilled captain in the league.

I've been saying it for years. He's not a talented hockey player. His hands are pedestrian. I love his heart, and his effort, but as far as actual hockey skill, he is lacking. A 3rd liner at best on any good to great team.

Decent period with one really bad shift and a lead. Callahan missed an empty net, then Callahan fumbled the puck causing an offside on a 2 on 1. The guy isn't some ridiculously skilled guy but that's just unacceptable. We're not talking about Colton Orr here.

Hags has 9 points in 14 games.

Pouliot is garbage.

Which is part of the problem. We have to many garbage players.

Pouliot, Pyatt, Moore, Boyle.

two of them are solid defensive players.

33% of our forward group provide limited to no offensive ability at all.

The only thing that makes sense is that Cally is still having trouble with one of his injuries. For people going on and on about him having no skill, that really isn't the real issue. Cally has always been more about hustle and a good motor, but around the net? There aren't many players better in that area. Those are the plays that he's messing up this season, and he doesn't usually miss those. It's gotta be an injury issue.

I think a Boyle, Moore, Dorsett fourth line is a very good fourth line.

In the playoffs, Boyle takes his game to another level. We will be happy to have him when April rolls around.

The problem is just getting the Pouliots, the Pyatts.etc off of our top-9.

What injury caused the missed empty net and killing a 2 on 1?

Honestly, I'm not a Callahan hater, I very rarely complain about him, but if he continues this I think someone who's better and/or is better this year deserves to take him spot in the olympics. He's not the only player of his kind.

if we are able to land a top 6 LW'er, then the 3rd line HAS to be

Hags - Brassard - Callahan

Not big, but fast, nose for the net and sould on the D side of the puck.

That would help make the Rangers a more dangerous team.
