I was under the impression that sans Jake and Rust, Geno was wholly unable to succeed and we were expected to weep for him. Glad to see he was able to beat the insurmountable odds!
He would have scored 6 points if he had Guentzel and Rust.

can I just say that having watched the Hawks, who are without Toews and still employ the ancient Keith and Kane, they look rejuvenated and much better than the Pens....aren’t they supposed to be out of their Cup window too? And yet, they look fast and skilled with a lot of young Euro players in the lineup who don’t just chest snipe the goalie and know how to make offensive plays...I don’t see any embarrassing failures to clear the crease either despite the fact that the blueline does not have the talent on it that the Pens supposedly have...

I don’t think anyone outside of Pens’ fans believes we have that much talent on the blue line.
We were laughed at when we signed Ceci and acquired Matheson. Pettersson sucks as well. I don’t think any other fan base is jealous of our current blue line, especially at the cap hits we are paying.

Chicago’s division is arguably as bad if not worse than the north.
They also have a record based on beating Detroit a ton.
