I think Sid has set the bar too high. He has been an ungodly scoring machine for a decade and a half but he has some lazy games and we all hate him.

I havent seen crosby even attempt to take the puck to the net through a defenseman this entire season. He used to force the issue on offense. Now, he stops at the blue line and turns around and looks for a player.

Tbh I don't think Crosby has the explosiveness to succeed like that anymore.

ANOTHER hard work play by Rust while Sid/Jake are at the far blue line

I honestly wasn't joking over the past several weeks when I kept referring to Rust as the best forward on the team this season. Because he's absolutely that. He's the one guy that's constantly making this happen... the one guy that's always out there working hard.

I feel like Guentzel very much follows Crosby's lead on that line, and so when Crosby has a bad/lazy game like this then so does he. Makes for a very all-or-nothing combination.
