Loui gets hurt tonight walks during the offseason and I drink myself to dearh

5.25 for 4 years would be absolute highway robbery for the Bruins.

Time for Sweeney to draw the line in the sand then.

Loui gets his choice. He gets the extra million or maybe a bit more, but only on the 4 year term initially offered. Or, he gets his 5 or 6th year, but at 5.25 initially offered.

If he wants both, he's shipped out. I like the guy, but signing him to a 5 or 6 year deal at this stage is not a wise move for a team with an unknown future.

I can see it now. "Breaking! Bruins aquire Nicklas Grossman for a 3rd round pick"

The classic depth dman trade, then your typical "we couldn't get a deal done" nonsense. Bruins get bounced in the 1st round 4 games to 2, Eriksson walks in the summer.

I just cannot see DS considering this team to be a finished process.

After the moves made last summer, keeping Loui, to me flies in the face of the direction he seemed to be heading.

And the dumbest question goes to..."If you can't trade Loui by 3 pm tomorrow, will you keep him the rest of the season?"

Sorry, NESN but that was not "breaking news"...

And Loui could still come down with a bad stomach bug just prior to warmups.

I'm off to the packie before closing. BRB.

Trades are hard don't ya know.

I don't think we necessarily need another third pair Dman. If it comes to a defense rental I would rather roll with our mess than give up an asset for somebody else's.

I think that's closer to their final offer than the starting point.

It's not THE starting point, pretty sure the first offer was something like 3x5.5m, but I highly doubt that's their limit. They've been negotiating this long, I'm sure if both sides want the same thing they can find a compromise between 1/2 years and ~1m.

I assume this person doesn't cover sports regularly. Even my non sports following daughter knew this was a dumb question.
