Are the Bruins going to get some help or what?
My wish-list for today;
1.) Loui signed to a 4 year deal
2.) Lee Stempniak
3.) Dan Hamhuis
Helps now and for the future

I love Scott Hartnell but I don't agree with your assessment. At this point, Hartsy is a good locker room guy and leader out on the ice, but his skillset straight up will not allow him to produce like a top player late into his career. He's a guy Id only take on the Bruins if some of his contract was retained. He'd be a third line player.
Also, seems like an agenda to claim Torts has ruined anything in Columbus. They certainly haven't been worse since he took over.
I heard hartnell is on the block. Probably not a fit here but what's his value today? Does he have anything left in the tank?
No agenda re: Torts. I just don't think his coaching style is maximizing what Hartnell has left. He's not a top line guy for sure.
Bruins have a glut in the bottom 6 so he doesn't fit here anymore but I'd love to see him go to a team that will utilize him properly.
Ok, it's late and there doesn't seem to be much going on with Eriksson at the moment. Let's discuss the rumored trade that most likely fell apart with the Blues. Might not be completely accurate, as most of this is speculation/conjecture based on Dom's hints.
If Barry was asking for $6 million X 6 years, and that really was the snag with the deal, what $ and term would Armstrong have been ok with? And is there a chance with the rumor of Eriksson's side budging a bit earlier today with their demands that these talks could resume?
- Something close to - Loui Eriksson, Alexander Khokhlachev and Colin Miller for Kevin Shattenkirk was discussed.
- Possibly contingent upon Eriksson being willing to sign an extension with the Blues.
- Doug Armstrong may have balked at J.P. Barry's asking price.
Also, if anyone has more accurate/specific info regarding this, please chime in.
Not even slightly true.Why......because I don't care how good anyone else is, come playoff time, its anyone's ballgame.
I think the cost would be closer to Griffith + 1st. He is on a great contract and Tor wouldn't deal him unless someone paid for him like his career year is his new normal.
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic. You are right?
I'm still astonished when I read this board about people giving up on this team already and hoping we can "be good" in 2-3 years? Have you ever played competitive sports? We were expected to finish towards the bottom of the conference and we're in a good spot with the patch work d-group we currently have and 100% missing a top 6 forward. Don is working the phones like mad to address both and everyone in here is wishing he trade Eriksson, trade Chara, trade Seids, Rask isn't good enough, Krejci makes too much.
Have some loyalty to the guys who brought our team out of the dark ages. I am all for Don bringing in some rentals, as long as it doesn't cost us in the future. Why......because I don't care how good anyone else is, come playoff time, its anyone's ballgame. With our playoff experience, and a few pieces added, I'm confident in whoever we play.
In Don I trust!
Enough, I don't like the contract, if you could get Columbus to eat part of it I would package second tier prospects like Griffith and Koko for him.
Still brings much needed grit and leadership.
What coaching style best suits Scott Hartnell?
Just what we need, a 33 yr. old third liner scheduled to make 15 mil over the next three years.I've lost track of him a bit. I'm wondering what it will take if some team wants him today. His contract is 6 mill next year and then approx 5 & 4 .
No. I really like Loui. Hope we find a way to keep him while our core is in it's prime
It's line up placement first and foremost.
Hartnell played under Lavi who's got a similar style to Claude. Tough on guys but will also work with players to improve.
Torts is an entirely different coach who prefers the tough love approach and it is his way or the highway. Not great when a guy is struggling a bit.
If we didn't have a glut in the bottom 6 and his contract didn't suck, I'd take a flyer on him as I think he could bounce back.

Yeah I don't quite see it. While Hartnell isn't being given a top spot, I'm pretty sure that's due to skillset, not the fact that he's being stagnated by Tortorella. Hartnell has never had the most natural talent and those guys tend to slip in the lineup as their careers wane.
Also, while I can partially see your point based on their perceived personalities, Claude and Lavi are a very rough comparison given how one is very offense heavy and the other is not.

Where do guys come up with these aging veterans to add to our forward group when we really need defenseman?
