Sad FUS isn’t more in the equation….but he’s still young. Curious to see how badly he wants to stay after what comes off as a not strong year.

This is a best of 3 series. The next 2 rounds are best of 5 series and then the Conference Final & Calder Final is a best of 7 series.I'm confused here, is this a best of 3 series?
Damn I forget how wonky & screwy the AHL playoff format isThis is a best of 3 series. The next 2 rounds are best of 5 series and then the Conference Final & Calder Final is a best of 7 series.
So basically Wolves need to win the next two games to advance to the Division Semi-Finals which would be against Milwaukee. This particular round made its debut in the Wolves championship season (2022 Calder Cup Playoffs). In that playoff series, Rockford swept the stars 2 zip, only to get swept by the Red Hot Wolves (3-0). View attachment 1021669
They do bus teams around in the AHL. So for the Wolves, they bus to Rockford, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Des Moines, Cleveland. The rest they fly to (like Cedar Park and Winnipeg).Gotta believe that limiting long range travel in the early rounds plays a big part in determining the AHL playoff setup. I'm curious; do they still bus teams in the AHL, and if so, I wonder how far before they switch to flights?
Thanks any lineup changes?
Wolves are cooked. Nadeau had an open net and missed it, Rockford had a 2 on 0 the other way (didn’t score though). They can’t get anything passed Commesso other than some unlucky bounce but even then it lands on a Rockford stick and it goes the other way. They are still making mistakes (Rockford is) but they recover pretty fast.Rockford went up 2-0 6 minutes in, so the Wolves have a bit of a mountain to climb.

Enjoy the last 20 minutes of Wolves hockey as the summer for the Wolves will start tomorrow. (They just went into the 2nd intermission at the time of this post)
Chicago had a decent season I'd say. Started out with a slow October which was expected but they put it together in November into December. However they kinda lost what they had in December and would go on these winning and losing streaks and wouldn't really have like "win one and then lose one" sort of thing and that's what we saw this week. Regardless, the team was decent and there were top players on it like Nedeau, Morrow, Martin, Robidas, Skyler, Suzuki, you name it. Obviously there were players that didn't perform well but that's the nature of the AHL. Like, nobody expects Ruslan to hit the ice on day 1 and play like Corey Crawford, it takes time and it will happen. Perets seems like the type that'll have a career in the ECHL/AHL. It'll be interesting to see what moves Carolina makes this offseason.
27, turning 28 before next season, and a career year of 38 points in 62 games a couple years ago for Iowa, I can't think of a better time to useNick Swaney is leaving the Chicago Wolves and will be joining the Graz99ers (ICEHL)
We're talking about a career AHL player who scored one more point than Felix Unger Sorum, who we all agree had a disappointing season. He scored as many points as Josiah Slavin and one fewer than Skylar Brind'Amour. You haven't posted in this thread in the last 7 months and that's what you're going with?
This is the AHL thread, not the prospects thread. Swaney played 48 games for the Wolves and contributed on the score sheet. He should be replaceable but no need to disrespectful.

He's leaving to play in the Austrian pro league, not one of the top tier leagues in Europe (SHL, Liiga, Swiss National).
Replaceable is an understatement. These are exactly the types of players the Wolves would keep for marketing purposes and used to block decent prospects, which is why I'm happy Carolina is making the roster decisions now.
This is an AHL thread on a Carolina Hurricanes board. If you want to talk exclusively about the Wolves with no concern of the Canes, there's an entire AHL board you can use for that purpose.
And guess who didn't re-sign him when he showed he wasn't better than the internal prospects?Guess who signed Swaney to the Wolves?
