Marco Rossi is a name worth keeping an eye on this. We probably don’t have what Minnesota wants (top 6 forward) but I’d love to add him. He’s not great at faceoffs but wise could also use him as a winger.

Rossi is small and his production this season is mostly on playing with Kaprizov. In his last 20 games (No Kaprizov) only 4 goals and 4 assists. Not sure that is a help to our team at all.

Yzerman sounded pretty intent on going the other way in terms of more size after the deadline. He doesn’t say a lot but what he does he usually follows up on. I expect a couple larger forwards in the offseason and this to be a feature of exit interviews.

Most the board knows I haven’t been the biggest Rossi guy for a few years. He does compete hard so similar to Debrincat he is not letting his size be a disadvantage. I would say he feels like a winger to me still. I don’t think we are balancing the top 6 wingers with 4 sub-6’ wingers.

I am also hopeful that one of the top 6 spots on the wing is penciled for Danielson.

Breaking Danielson in on the wing with Larkin and Raymond like they did with Kasper this year seems like a good plan. Obviously, landing Marner would be ideal, but that ain't likely.

I'm hoping they can get Seider a legit partner via trade or FA and move Chiarot down to the third pair with whoever. Mazur slots in on the third line and maybe ASP gets a shot as well. ASP-Edvinsson is an obvious pair to try if Axel looks good in the preseason and Chiarot-AlJo would be a strong 3rd pair.

Biggest thing is fixing the PK. If that was just middle of the pack we'd be in the playoffs. Might need a new goalie to help with this one. No idea who though. Gibson? Counting on Cossa is a risky plan.

I don’t think mbn makes the team so soon. Danielson will make it , I’d put asp but who knows with this team ... Mazur will be in. That’s already 3

There’s lombardi and buchelnikov if he can get out of his khl contract who can compete for a spot , nygaard being drafted last yr I doubt he’d already get in. This team definetly needs to shed a ton of garbage off this team. Anyone know how many buyouts were allowed in the off season?

I hate having buyouts cause gotta lose cap space double the year’s left but he’s gotta go. I’d try and get a contender who’s trying to get deals on players to make a trade for a tarasenko double retained at 1.2 . We’ll take the future’s and the other team can get a 5th , whatever . Too many similar players

Trade compher and a pick for bertuzzi if the hawks keep playing him on the bottom lines. He had chemistry with larkin and Raymond and we can use someone like him. We lose compher we’d have larkin kasper danielson copp Rasmussen capable of playing Center. No big loss

Anyways Yzerman gotta subtract a lot of guys off this roster somehow

Wings could definitely use a little nastiness on this team. I could easily see teams offing him 8x7 or 7x7 and the he is probably a guy that misses 10-15 games a year due to his style.

I don't think Bennett alone is going to make enough of a difference though because he's realistically a 40point kind of guy.

Danielson, Buch, Mazur, and Ammo are all really knocking at the door. If Kane decides to move on I think Buch comes over.

Mazur and Danielson are my picks to make the team with Ammo and MBN being our callups.

Need to dump Tank, Holl and ideally Compher. I don't hate the idea of a Bert/ Compher swap but I don't know if Compher would waive to Chi or Chi would want Compher. Probably deal Berg too. I just don't see him finding his way here. I do think he could succeed elsewhere.

Deal tank for 50% hold.
Buyout Holl or dump him in GR
Deal Compher for Bert
Try for Porvorov and Ehlers

I'm not sure how I feel about that lineup. Defense overall should be better with getting Seider a real partner. Chia pops down to the pairing he is more suited to. ASP should bring some offense to the PP at least. Goal is still very messy. Could try to just dump Compher and go for a guy like Marner instead of Ehlers and look to bring a guy like Buch over.

Forwards have more grit to them overall, and are probably better defensively. 4th line at least should provide some jump with Mazur and Watson. Hope Bert can rekindle his chemistry with Larkin and Ray.

Yeah that’s what worry’s me for guys like him. We need someone like him but he’s also a 45 ish pt guy who’ll ask for 7-8 yrs .... if he’d take 9 x 3 yrs I might be inclined but I doubt he jumps at that

Yzerman needs to lock up edvinsson x8 this off season and its way too early but if we like johansson give him like 8 yrs 25mill or something. Rather have him locked up at a. Scoring 5v5 Wingers and better D man should be on Yzerman's shopping list. Cs would be a huge mistake unless you can unload Copp or Compher. Bringing up Danielson up to start as a winger is fine, but his overall future has to be C.

Why does Chiarot lineup the farthest away possible from the starting lineup where they do the national anthem?

Also, I like his "style of play" because he has some nastiness to him, but I just don't like that it seems like he wants a lot of attention. There was like two or three times against the avs where he could have dished it to an actual shooter but he wants to be the hero like all the time. He isn't the worst, but he is not the best between him and Seider when it comes to being a puck-mover, but he always wants to take the lead on that.

If we can get another defenseman this offseason with his type of snarl for our d-corps (regardless if it is top 4 or bottom pairing) it would be fantastic to trade him somewhere. There has to be some team out there that could use him. Again, it's not so much his defensive lapses which are probably plenty, its just Seider and him just look like they hate each other out there sometimes. The way they pass it to each other is crazy. They rifle it at each other when there's no need for it most of the time.

Whoever brought up Bennett that would be fantastic, but I don't see him leaving at all. I'd probably look at trading compher towards the trade deadline if anything, but I don't hate copp and compher. Just me I suppose. There's been rumormilling going on about Kane leaving, I don't like it but I don't hate it. We would just need someone to fill that role like a trade for Kyle Connor or something. I wouldn't mind bringing Craig Smith back...most of the time, him and Motte seem like they are the only ones who try their ass off every game. Sure they don't play much, but you cannot question their effort at this point.

Connor is a michigan man and his entire michigan line he was on plays on det right now. ipso-facto he will be traded to us because he is going to tell the jets i'm outta here and want nothing to do with canada, obvi.

Connor has one year left. If he wants out before he signs his biggest deal, then it would be next year or offseason it happens. Wouldn't happen at TDL. There has been a growing amount of American players that just don't want to play in Canada for whatever reasons they use. Would Yzerman get him his next big contract? Honestly I could see it if Kane wasn't here and I don't think it would be outlandish to pay him 9x7. Even if larkin is getting paid 8.7.

I think our organizational depth by bringing up the kids is the absolute best idea, but Yzerman wants GR to be competitive, as well. Makes sense. But I also think Lalonde was a factor in not letting some kids play too (i.e. Kasper and ALJO lineup decisions). Todd seems to enjoy putting them in tough situations to see what he's got and I've always liked that approach in many ways, not just hockey.

For better or worse, we're set here for next yr. Hope Cossa takes the starting job and runs w it first chance he gets.

If you just add one legit top-4 D (Provorov, Gavrikov, Ekblad).. the D group actually improves considerably.. especially once ASP arrives and knocks Gus out of the lineup.

Mazur --- Danielson --- Kane

Assmusen, Compher, Copp, Trashenko, etc.

Mazur and Danielson should start the yr in Detroit. I think Danielson will do so as a center. In an ideal world, Kane will play his 5-on-5 minutes on the 3rd line.

Need to sign at least one top-6 wing. In an ideal world, it's Marner, but we'll see... Hopefully they have a backup plan.

In an ideal-ideal world, they'd sign two top-six wings to knock Soder out, but we'll see there as well...not the end of the world to see what Soder can do in the top-six in a full yr
