Ya if much rather have a 50% cap hit next year than have a cap hit for 2 yrs

Find a 3rd team, double retention ... give them the 4th pick and we take futures I dont care. I'm sure florida takes him at under 1.2

It is a M-NTC next season, I forget the details (and too lazy to look it up, but I think a 10 or 12 team NTC) but depending upon yutes graduates, I suspect SY will keep him at least until the TDL next year, in the worst case, they paper him to GR.
 
Buyout for Tarasenko is 1.58M per year. Not a fan of buyouts, but it will save the most cap space for next year. Cap is going up a lot the next two years, so it will be ok.

I don't think there is much point to buying him out. 1 year left and cap is going way up, just ride it out. Some team will probably take him in the offseason when cap won't be a problem.

Don’t know if this was officially confirmed anywhere else and don’t know where else to put it, but they just mentioned off hand on NHL network that “we talked to a couple players off the record at the stadium series after the 4 nations and they said they were EXHAUSTED and would need some time to get their legs back after that tournament”. I imagine that could only apply to a few different guys

He said there weren't that many big guys available and by the looks of it he sounds like hes talking about making a deadline move for the post season

We are in no position to trade 1sts and 2nds etc for rentals. Hes been in on big names if he can find a young enough player that would be a huge part of this team longterm I have 0 doubt he would make a big move

If you committed to mrazek its nonsensical to carry 3 guys

Would have tried to get a convince someone who might have had interest in tarasenko to get a 3rd team involved for double retention on tarasenko. Would have been under 1.2 hit.

Someone would have bitten and I dont care if the return was a 7th at that point just get that roster spot open

Gustafsson at 1 mill ... double retention for a 7th I dont care I just want these hams gone .

Anyone be opposed to a bertuzzi reunion???? Was checking hawks lines on daily faceoff and hes on the 4th line??

Its undeniable he had chemistry on that top line. If we can get them to take compher and even a 3rd if need be and reunite bertuzzi larkin raymond and go kasper 2c I think I might look at it

I dont think the 2 sides ended on bad terms just couldn't get a deal done. Both compher and bert are signed to 3 yrs and we already have endless supply of bottom 6 guys

2nd line can be debrincat kasper soderblom??

Anyways I dont know but it might be a way of preventing yzerman from giving another bad ufa signing and if he cant find someone hed part a 1st for ...

I'm not against a bert reunion + hes someone you go to playoff war with. I'd bring him back

I wouldn't mind getting him back.

His contract value is quite right, as 5.5M is the current NHL Middle6 winger pricetag for becoming years with raising cap.

Also, he is 30 and will turn 33 on his last contract year. Probably will regress on that point, just when the contract will end. The contract term is also a great fit.

Don't see him as 1st liner anymore. Somebody else has to be that, even though there could exist some old chemistries.

If we could like swap him and Compher I might not be opposed. I'd honestly argue Bert was never really a 1st liner to begin with. He was more like a Cleary who could play up and down the lineup depending on who he had chemistry with.

I didn't want to sign him long term because I had fears that he'd never get over his back issues and he was going to want to get paid like a regular 60pt guy which I didn't think he was. But I wouldn't be opposed to him at 5.5 now if we could swap him with Compher. We could use someone that actually knows how to score a goal at the net front.

Yeah dont think on most teams hed be a 1st liner but he did have undeniable chemistry with larkin and I believe raymond was with him on that line when he had his best season

If it's still there it's a bonus for us. Like you said the term is good,money's not crazy and matches it's pretty much

Compher and bert have similar #'s and compher can play C so maybe hawks take him for that reason?

I dont know if bertuzzi is actually on the 4th line like dailyfaceoff says and he stays there mostly the rest of the year I'd think we'd have a shot at a deal if we wanted to

I'd personally much rather have had a bertuzzi reunion over a mrazek
 
Man the ufa market is pretty meh this year

I suspect chychrun will resign in wsh .. only forward that looks a bit interesting short term that wont cost crazy money and term is saad if he tests the market

Basically a 20-25 goal guy ... rfa market is an option with an offer sheet or a threat of one

K'andre miller I think is the most doable since Drury was rumored to have shopped him

Mctavish, knies, Quinn ,rossi,foerster,byram vilardi

I think miller,quinn,byram are the best options considering they even on the block

Rather get them with a threat of an offer though so we dont have to give byram like 7.5 and quinn 5 x5 etc..
