I got the picture that Wings start with Talbot & Mrazek next season unless Cossa has great AHL playoffs(probably meaning championship win), great off season training and great training camp. Then underperformer is gone, so Cossa most likely starts in GR. I guess Augustine stays in NCAA, 26-27 Cossa in Detroit full time and Augustine in GR.

He talked about how important is to get minutes for all the goalies. And also mentioned how poor goalie market is in the summer, thats why wanted Mrazek and sounds like Lyon is not getting re-signed.

Stevie said in the presser that big splash trades like that ain't happening. We ain't there yet, i think was the exact quote.

And we’re not going to get there without making a big trade. His philosophy is what, don’t gamble to improve in trade? Gamble to improve only at the draft? It’s a bullshit philosophy right now.

I'm not saying he's better than Raymond, hes definitely not. But he's a near-Raymond level player today, though Raymond will be better in the future. Stankoven is 2 years older than ASP (not 3) but is much, much better - not sure how you don't see that. He destroyed the AHL last year and on a 40 pt pace in his rookie year. He's from the same draft as Edvinsson...if you don't think he's going to improve much from here, I assume you also think Edvinsson has maxed out?

Least we agree on that . raymond will far surpass him same age group and be a big factor in helping us win cups again

Fine , 25 months older than asp who I'd still prefer. He can smash ahl records all he wants it's not the nhl. I like asp's upside and wouldn't do a 1 for 1 trade and I dont think stevie would either

Edvinsson a top pairing dman playing a ton of minutes and is a big factor. Highly doubt stankoven will ever be close to an habitual top liner

Edvinsson like raymond and seider will be huge contributors in us winning the cup again and yzerman would be smart to give a 8 yr extension asap

That's the aspect I question.

It's an imperfect metaphor, but for simplicity let's say that each draft pick is a coin flip (heads means it provides equal or better than average production from that draft slot...tails means anything less).

So you want to flip as many coins as possible, explicitly because it's roughly a 50/50 chance that each one works in your favor. Let's say that you do what you can to gather 20 coin flips. So it would be statistically reasonable to say that somewhere around 10 flips will be heads, and you determine a variation of 2, meaning that with those 20 flips, anything between 8 heads and 12 heads would not be unexpected.

It's one thing to make a plan with the expectation of 12 heads, being towards the optimistic end of the statistical spectrum. It's another to make a plan with the expectation of 16 heads out of 20. Considering the variation of 2, you're essentially saying, "Between my amateur scouting, draft strategy, and development resources, I EXPECT Detroit to be about TWICE as good as the average NHL team for building a team from the draft."

Which is not eliminating risk. It's just exchanging one type of risk for another.

I'm very encouraged by the majority of high draft picks they've made. But that's not the same thing as DEPENDING on Cossa and ASP and Danielson to ALL pan out into very good players (and, depending on how much longer he's using this approach, also depending on Buchelnikov, MBN, their early picks in 2025, in 2026, etc.).

Stankoven is 3 yrs older than asp. Asp is a top 10 prospect not in the nhl. Makes no sense to say hes a better prospect cause he got traded for rantanen

That was the best offer they got that they liked. Necas has 1 more year before hes a ufa,not the same and dont try and tell me cause he has better #'s hes better than raymond
Stankoven is 2 years older. I’m pretty confident you have no idea how highly Stankoven is viewed as a prospect. Especially considering you expect he won’t improve whatsoever from his current 40pt pace

So by this logic, who cares what ASP is doing in the SHL, it’s not the NHL, right?

I said hed be 40-55 ballpark mostly and would have a career year around 65 ish depending how hes used. Dont think he'll ever be an habitual 1st liner

Anyways dude you got your opinion I got mine. You think I'm an idiot, cool I really dont care lol. Time will tell who's right or wrong seen countless top prospects become nothing in the NHL

Earlier you said he will be a 45pt player, then backtracked on that.

Once again, by your logic ASP could easily become nothing in the NHL too, right?

Your valuation is so far off it’s almost comical.
