I’d be super cautious of Byram. He’s already had 3 concussions just in the NHL.

I’d offer a 1st this year top 8 protected, or Wallinder and a 2nd. He’s not on the PP, and would likely be next to Seider.

I used them as examples of trade value. The big superstars in the league rarely get traded for what fans think they’re going to be traded for. Miller didn’t force his way to NYC. He waived his NTC after the rangers proposed a trade. Rantanen didn’t need to be traded, especially with the cap rising now.

And you stated you’d trade a 1st, Kasper, Compher/Copp, AlJo and Rasmussen for Byram and Cozens.

Cozens is looking like an overpaid 50 point guy. Byram an often injured 30ish point guy.

People hoping for a significant acquisition before June/July are going to be disappointed IMO. Wings have upgraded their top six and top four internally and that's going to be the M.O for a while. How things look at the break and then just prior to the TDL will influence things, but at this point all we're probably looking at is cheap improvements to bottom six and 6/7D. A rental or short-term winger so that Tarasenko can sit in the team suite and Veleno doesn't play more than 4th line minutes is about as big a move as I expect. They're 12-4-1 under Todd. They keep this up or just stay close to that pace, they won't have to worry about a WC spot, they'll finish third or higher.

You cant compare those . One had a full Ntc and yes determined his destination. It's been long said he wanted to go back and trocheck and he always wanted to play together. Was always going to be n.y and the other is a pending ufa

Did I say I would trade them? I've stated multiple times I wouldnt make the trade, I was pushing for kasper months prior to the draft and defending the guy when ppl said he had no offense

I'm saying If we trade for both buffalo will demand kasper who they apparently coveted,theyll likely want a dman back and itll probably be a johansson.There were rumors of both being dealt in a big deal for pettersson. Were not getting them both for rejects

Cozens is just miserable and waiting to die in buffalo ,he'll explode when hes moved... your sounding like that guy who thinks we need to move a 1st finnie and buium for justin Barton lmao

You think buffalo will send cozens and byram for a 1st wallinder berggren. Wont be as cheap as you think
 
Some people seem to think tarasenko will still be here to ease buchelnikov when he comes(he wont)

Was looking at the russian players in the league and was I doubt hes available but what if we can make a play for romanov??? Still young so would be a big piece here longterm

Wouldnt hate byram but I'd like a dman who's big and physical and can play 20+ a night. I'm less concerned with offense on the back end cause edvinsson will only get better and pellikka is coming

Seider gets a good partner he can be let loose a bit more. Cozens and byram together I think wed have no choice but to include kasper which I'm not a fan of

He signed a 2 year deal and has 1 more year left in the khl

I'd eat 50% off tarasenko and move him. Hasn't been a good fit

Didn’t know about the concussions but his deal expires after this season, so I was mainly going for an active point producing d man that could be added to the second power play. I’d be looking at trading Gustafson for him.

No salary held, I was thinking more of Gustafson + 2nd or 3rd for byram

For cozens with no salary held, I was looking more of veleno, copp or compher, and if I truly believed it was just cuz he was on the savres where good players go to die, then I’d seriously think about berggren instead of a high draft pick
 
Gonna have to shop the bottom of the barrel an see if a 4th rdp will pry away some expiring veterans like RHD Alec Martinez(local guy/winner) from Chicago or something real small like that if you want any help at all this season, imo.

1) Obviously I like that particular player better than you do and you like the prospect more than I do. Not a crime.

2) More importantly, that SPECIFIC player isn't the point. The point is that it's time to start moving the rebuild forward by identifying good NHL players that fit the timeline and dealing assets for said players.

If you don't like Barron, fine. But eventually you can't put a hundred prospects on the ice at the same time and you need to exchange quantity for quality. Not to mention the law of averages that sooner or later the Finnies and Buiums of the world will sometimes bust at the NHL level instead of continuing to come up roses. So with things starting to take off a bit, the next 6-12 months is the time to get creative and land a couple good NHL players to boost the lineup long term.

Very much disagree that AlJo looks good because of Edvinsson. He’s very independently capable. AlJo has already had a couple games where he’s arguably outplayed Edvinsson.

With that said, no, AlJo isn’t nor will he be better than Ed.

Cozens = cap dump plus nonNHL good but not stud prospect plus either a 1st rd pick in the 15 to 25 range or a 2nd rd pick plus B level prospect/young depth nhl forward

Lombardi is hurt though.

Copps found a small role with DeBrincat and Kane when he was health; winning face-offs. Still the only other C on the team really useful in that area outside of Larkin. :facepalm:

Still can blast him off idc. Name another one of your favorite prospects instead and you're mostly likely right at this point with Copp and the remainder of his career.

Seen a clip of ex nhler maxim LaPierre saying theres no way MacKinnon was blindsided by rantanen being moved and he wouldnt be surprised to see rantanen go back to colorado and they gained necas

Didnt cross my mind,guessed hed sign in Carolina but with how high the cap is jumping I'd say it could be a possibility
