24/25 Waivers/Rumors/TDL Thread.

Puljujarvi on waivers lol almost tempted to move likes of fischer motte now since theyll be gone anyways and pick him up and soderblom and fit in a way for watson as well

Pulju is very problematic player, because he can play 23min without exhaustion and work as a horse, but his talent isn't ever near to be elite top-line 20min player.

I dunno, somebody should go crazy and try him as a defenceman.

When he will drop to Bottom6, he is kind of "skill-fit" there, but when not getting enough ice-time, he most of the time becomes useless, because he is frustrated when not getting much ice-time.

I listen to their podcast every now and then to bask in Buffalo schadenfreude. They played on the team back in the mid/late '00s. Wouldn't be surprised if they know someone who knows... something. But they're also a step above knuckle draggers, mad NY sports radio at the core. FYI, their last podcast a couple days ago ran through possible Detroit/Buffalo trades with beauts like: "Owen Power for Seider" and "Trade for Olli Maatta, who says no?"

TBH, If he was picked up by the Red Wings I think he could jump in and out of the lineup with Berggren. That role alone is an uptick in minutes for him and whoever the better player emerges from the two would, also likely get/create more ice-time.

Not the worst idea to pick him up, shake the leaves on his branches and if doesn't work out Yzerman can just waive him. I would be personally surprised if no one picks him up.

I'm really really hoping this is one of those classic Yzerman fleecings, and we don't have to give up too much substance. 7.1 for a career high 68 point guy doesn't inspire a lot of joy to me.

I'm starting to think it's Marco going out if Cozens is indeed the target. We'd have to shed more cap I think .. maybe they'd take one of our bad contracts.

That's kind of what I was thinking ... I'd think they'd like to take a veteran to help them out, and Copp only has 2 years left after this one and in theory makes them a bit tougher to play against?

Dylan cozens would be cool but unless yzerman does miracles on the d core we'd be better off delaying big moves till later on and going for a top 4 pick

As cool as cozens would be it suck to lose kasper cause hes the kind of guy we win with in the playoffs. I'd hope for some yzerman magic for once.

Buffalo would also want a 1st which I'd be reluctant to move in the next 2 years.

Think works on cap and sabres being a budget team saves 2 mill and lose 2 big contracts

I don't see Copp being traded. Not even due to his production to cap hit ratio, but he seems to be a locker room guy, last off the ice, and captained Larkin in college.

I think the above Kasper+Compher+2nd is the formula for the trade.

Me either, I've been one of the biggest Kasper supporters since he was drafted, voting him our #1 or #2 prospect every poll that's sprung up. And I definitely don't want Cozens (unless, like I said earlier, it's a fleecing by Steve) but I think that trade is something Buffalo would take seriously, vs. something like Ras+Berggren+2nd or whatever.

Same pushed for months on twitter for us to draft him lol not ready to let him go

Rather try and push a mazur/kiiskinen on buffalo ... try and push them down and keep pressuring them that cozens play and contract is too big a risk for kasper

I'm sure someone else will come along ... surely Anaheim wont be able to keep all of sennecke mctavish carlsson gauthier on the top 6 and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone... I left off zegras cause hes likely a goner

Mctavish would also be a good player to look at and hed be a pain in the neck to play against in the playoffs for opponents

If you replaced either name with Chairot/Holl I'd also be ok with this. Moving Compher out would be awesome.

An interesting thought...if Petterson is truly on the market...would flipping Cozens plus a pick to the Nuks make sense for SY?

Definitely makes us more dynamic offensively, gotta think Pettersson would like to play in arguably the richest Swedish historical franchise in NHL history, but I'd be afraid Vancouver would want an unprotected 1st this year, and likely another top prospect (Danielsson, ASP, MBN).


But having said that, don't both teams have the pieces for a EP/Cozens trade? Wouldn't they just work the trade out together, eliminating a middle man?

I am assuming that Petey would not be a happy camper in Buffalo and from what is going around, Buffalo is looking for is more of a sandpaper player(s) return for Cozens (I have heard a few rumblings of Ras or Chairot to Buffalo as part of it, but nothing concrete yet)
