Joey V had shown some decent progress. He was setting himself up to be a decent forechecking bottom 6er that can chip in 10+ goals and bring some physicality. The offense and even some of that physicality seem to be evaporating. It's quickly turning into a tough year for the guy

He's been very bland all season, almost no grit, can't remember him having a scoring chance all season it seems ? He just seems to skate around and not really get anything done.

How do we get Alex Tuch
compromising pics of the GM

First few games he came out playing a really good game, so did Rasmussen. I really thought they were maybe going to take off this season and then they both just...blah. Ras still has moments, at least.

Just do what the Detroit Tigers did, play your promising young guys, dump the rest.
Do you mean bring injured Mazur and Lombardi or play Seider, and Edvinsson 60 minutes a game?. We could also bring Danielson and see if he survived NHL physically

I have an unhealthy obsession with the idea of going after Cozens.

I say unhealthy because I don't think he is obtainable for Yzerman but he seems like the perfect big swing.
Cozens scares me a little, because his career high 68 points looks like it may be an outlier. Which could be good to get him somewhat on the cheap, but if we're willing to go big, I'd ask the price for Tage. Just for shits and giggles.

I'd be ok with letting Johansson actually get some leash over Gustaffson, Holl, Petry and waiving someone from the bottom 6 and letting a Grand Rapids guy have a chance to do anything in those roles... maybe not a Danielson type, but why not let Soderblom try to spark anything. I can't imagine those guys bringing less to the team currently. Watson even...

Hes the type of player along with the likes of zegras byfield etc.... with big upside we should be going for

Still young and former 1sts who haven't been tossed to a bunch of teams already like a perlini that yzerman acquired once and they all had good seasons prior to currently struggling

Sabres team in general are a mess. Peterka had close to 30 goals as well last season and isnt doing much. Theres reason to think if hes on a different team he might produce

Fans wont agree with me but I dont there's a 1% chance yzerman signs debrincat to 7-8 years when his contract comes up. I'd do a debrincat for cozens deal in a heartbeat. Knowing yzerman I'm sure hes got a ntc though and buffalo would prob be on the list

Anyways yzerman should be going for those types of moves . While hes at it take a flyer at k'andre Miller or nic hague and fix our awful defense

I think its ultimately all moot because Detroit and Buffalo are bad trade partners but I would suggest that my unrealistic trade target is more realistic than your unrealistic trade target

There is no way Buffalo moves Thompson. There is a lot of smoke around Cozens which is why I suggested him. You are right, there is definitely some real risk with Cozens.

It’s gotta be hard for Lalonde to bench or call out a guy like Kane with his pedigree. At the same time the red wings have played their best hockey without him last year and this year. It’s time to make tough decisions something they haven’t done since Steve took over. Drafted safe, low consequence trades, even when we were overloaded with defensmen and goaltenders couldn’t make a move. The decisions have all made themselves around here and not for the better. It’s time to direct the team towards something. They still don’t have an identity they can point to. That’s unacceptable

What?!?!?

Seider was considered a huge reach at 6. Now he's considered a top 3 pick in every re draft. I guess you could say rayzor was a safe pick at 4. How about edvinsson? Who would you prefer we drafted so he could have some balls? Tyler Boucher? Picking cossa over wallstedt was considered to be a big ballsy gamble move and it's worked out. How about asp?

Not to mention other prospects in the pipeline coming up like Lombardi and buchelnikov?

But I'm sure you could do way better big balls moves right?let's see your potato chip gm record of drafting please.

I've been thinking about trying the Tigers model a lot with this team. "The kids can't be any worse" might be my biggest pet peeve, but at the same time we have a bunch of kids that are getting close to aging out and its time that we need to give them some experience and see what we have if the season is lost anyway.

Everyone might have their own opinion on if these guys are even worth a look, but its time to do what you can to unload some of the vets and give several of Johansson, Wallinder, Buium, Tuomisto, Soderblom, Danielson, Mazur, Lombardi, Hanas a chance to see if they can provide a spark

If someone from GR could sparks something at this point it's Watson.

Spark us into draft lottery contention? Lmao

If austin Watson is what we need to win it's over. I'd rather sit holl petry scrubs and bring up a tuomisto at this point and let him play 4-5 games and see what's there

The wings only have a few days before the roster freeze, so they need to return Husso to GR before then or risk having to waive him again (I think there is a 30 day rule and from memory, he was called up November 27), not 100% sure he would make it through waivers again given his recent stint. If Talbot is not 100%, I would send him down and bring up Cossa or Allen for a game or two to backup Lyon.

If they get him back to GR in time, then there is a roster spot open after the break, the wings can start a rotating cups of coffee program if they wish. I would like to see all of the first 4 on the list get at least 5 games in this season, with maybe Elmer getting as many as 15 or 20 games in towards the end of the season.

Maybe Elmer can establish himself a spot by the end of this season, making rookie transitions easier in the future, there will be a boatload of them coming sooner or later in the next few years.
