Ya just sucks man even the release and how it hit the corner ... thats what we all were hoping for here instead all we got is a bunch of shots missing the net lol

oh well get what your saying with the weaker league, for sure that helps ... doubt we ever see him again in the NHL but I wonder if theres chance he someday attempts a comeback ... must be what 25?

Ya I'm sure hes done ... could be worse man, if I was a hockey player I'd much rather spend 10 yrs in Europe playing hockey than the ahl, hes bound to be happy there
For sure, Switzerland in particular is awesome with the train system, etc, you can travel really easy. Like I said, Home after almost every game, literally. More money. Way better to go play in Switzerland. But he's right, the league itself is a little down because they only allow a certain amount of import players. More than half the teams have Swiss born players and they just aren't that good drawing from less than 9 million people.

Fabbro has been good for jackets so far, small size but stings a little.

Seems like buying chumps in free agency is not as good as just getting the Fabbro, Liljegrens of the world.

For every Fabbro or Liljegren that works out in a new environment there is probably a dozen zadina’s, or yakupovs that don’t.

For sure, but I'd rather try that than what we have been doing and signing bad ufas 2-4 years.
Fabbro was definietly one I would have taken a flyer on for a low pick. Liljegren was probably a no go just because of him being a Leafs guy. With Nashville being a WC team I would have tried for him.

One player who's cheap at $3.15M and a 2025 UFA is Brian Dumoulin in Anaheim. Playing on the top pair and his play has actually been really good this season. 6'4, can skate and move the puck

[5v5, Minimum 150 minutes on Anaheim]
33.33% starts in OZ (3rd on team)
46.6 xGF% (4th on team, 1st among D)
380 minutes played (1st on Ducks by 26 mins)

If we're trying to clinch a playoff berth (assuming that's the case since Lalonde), we should grab him and maybe ship a ripe ol' Petry their way and some young assets to benefit them. Can be a cheap 1-2 year re-sign, turns 34 next September

Ya I dont want anything to do with that guy when I hear dumoulin all I remember is my friend who's a pens die hard fan always losing his mind b*itching how much he hated dumoulin and how much he sucked ... seriously thought he was gonna have a heart attack lmfao

It's a no for me on that alone hahaha

Montreal gave it to him. It persisted through all his trades.
We can just put some guards in front of the arena and not let him ... he'll get the hint

I could see a scenario where the Jackets are closing in on a wildcard spot, so they hold on to Provorov but end up trading his rights in June. He’s refined his game somewhat, he might be a good #3/4 alongside ASP.

If someone took him for a ride though, they could just leave him there.

I miss the days when you waived your NTC/NMC once it was gone.
Yeah the next time we play Winnipeg just drop him by the side of the road a little outside of town. We'll tell the league he's on a farm somewhere with his family and nature can take care of the rest.

Is it terrible that I'm hoping Lyon and Talbot's injuries totally sink us? We're not going to make the playoffs anyway and getting knocked totally out of the race so that we turn into true sellers ASAP would be good for us. This is a chance at getting another top 5 pick.

Plus when Talbot and Lyon come back, if we start winning again, their value to a contender should be even higher. If we could get another first out of one of them, that would be amazing for the team. Then trade Kane, Talbot, and Lyon for a few picks. That'll make us worse and hopefully net a first somehow.

Trade Compher, Copp, Chiarot, Holl and Gustafsson if you can pay less than a first to get rid of them. They're all around for at least one more season and we need a true youth movement next year. We need to remake the team's identity and get some new faces in the room. I'm just so sick of them. If we could get a late first for Talbot, then I'd use that pick to get rid of Chiarot. I don't even care if that's smart anymore. I'm just sick of watching him play hockey. I don't want to watch him again next year. He sucks. I hate him.

Or even Boston, as his dad played for Red Sox I believe.

I wouldn't pay extra to move any of those guys. We don't have that many kids we will want to put in next year, and we don't want to put ourselves into a spot of having to sign guys just to fill out the roster because that's how we got those guys in the first place.

If we have to move folks to accommodate other moves, yeah, do what we have to do. We can fit a bunch of kids in, though, without throwing out more good assets after bad.

I get it. It's just that if next season we're running something like:

Cat-Larkin-Ray
Tank-Kasper-Compher
Berggren-Copp-Danielson/Mazur
Ras-Veleno-Motte

Ed-Seider
Chiarot- UFA defenseman
AlJo- Holl
Gus

Talbot
Cossa

that's going to be so depressing. Can we even pretend that that team has a hope of making the playoffs? I think our young players are getting too old to be out of the race by Thanksgiving again next year. I don't see us getting any better unless we can get rid of a few of these anchors in the lineup.

I'm hoping we see MBN and ASP on that team. Something like:

MBN-Larkin-Raymond
Debrincat-Kasper-Berggren
Rasmussen-Danielson-Tank
Fischer-Copp-Compher
Veleno

Wallinder/Chiarot-Seider
Ed-ASP
Wallinder/Chiarot-Albert
Holl, Gus

3lw is the spot I actually like the least right now. If we can swing a legit upgrade anywhere, then we can move any of a whole bunch of people (Ras, Veleno, Copp, Compher, Holl, Gus, Chiarot). Still not likely a playoff team, but the kids should be fun to watch. And I think we become a playoff team quick if we get an upgrade or two.

I suspect one or both Fisher/Veleno are not back and we see Elmer up as the 13th forward or 3rd/4th LW with Danielson.

If going small on Line 2, maybe try Berggren-Kasper-Raymond and move Cat back up with Larks with MBN. Ray and JB were 2/3 of a killer line along with that Petteresson kid on the Canucks for Sweden in the Jrs a few years ago...I think those 3 will push one another to a higher level if given some time together.

I suspect both, Söderblom takes Fischer's role and Veleno is traded for Trouba. Wings take full cap hit and Rangers send a pick along with Trouba.

DeBrincat - Larkin - Raymond
Lombardi - Kasper - Tarasenko
Berggren - Danielson - Compher
Rasmussen - Copp - Söderblom
Motte, Watson

Johansson - Seider
Edvinsson - Trouba
Chiarot - Holl
Gustafsson

Talbot
Cossa

23-men roster, 4,5 mill in cap space. Youth move is next seasons theme. Since Fester still has a job, im starting to believe that Yzerman thinks Wings ain't in the position to make bigger moves.

GR for next season
Snively - Dries - Shine
Mazur - Finnie - MBN
Rychlovsky - Becher - Doucet
James - Savage - Hanas
Johannes - Seger - Bantle

Wallinder - Tuomisto
Lagesson - ASP
Buium - Didier
X - X

My money is on us seeing two new faces on the blueline next year (ASP and one from outside of the organization). I am not sure what will happen with the forwards.
